It doesn't help that there was a bit of a gap between this movie and the previous one. Also the titles for the first 2 are confusing: "Dawn" comes after "Rise"...

Edit: I guess DefinitelyNotAFae is the target demo lol
Edit 2: This was a mean comment, I want to take it back. I'm not into the series, but I'm in no position to judge anyone for their taste in media

Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) is a groundbreaking film that introduces us to the concept of a substance designed to repair the brain, which eventually endows a chimpanzee with superior intelligence and leads to an ape uprising.
"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" (2014) is about a fragile peace between apes and humans, which is precariously balanced, threatened by a potent mix of mistrust and betrayal. This tension threatens to plunge both tribes into an all-out war for dominance over the earth.
War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) is a quest for vengeance with parallels to Moses.
The thematic thread that binds all the Planet of the Apes films together is a bleak one. Although there are some good humans, the prevailing theme is that mankind has been the architect of its own downfall, painting a picture of humanity as its own worst enemy.
They are all excellent, if you like bleak sci fi's. The first two have absolutely no dialogue in the first 30-15 minutes, but are utterly gripping. The visuals are outstanding.
Yeah, I was unnecessarily negative about the series in that comment. I know better than to judge what people like watching, even if I can't understand what they see in it, especially considering...

What I should have roasted was the entire series' titles. Apologies for the shorts link. They seem to have been following the _____ of the Planet of the Apes theme for a good long time now, and the names are interchangeable enough that you can make a game show question about what order they came out in

But I'm a sci-fi nerd and I respect the hustle. Which this series is still doing apparently.
Well and I watched the original quintet of movies as a kid which are out of order chronologically and the title overlap doesn't help. Maybe that'll be a summer break project, watching the series.

I doubt the marketing team is even aware of this site's existence, let alone back in 2021 when cloud_loud made their account. I'm no fan of ads, and I'm certainly not voting up this post, but I don't think OP is a paid shill.
If you don't enjoy watching/discussing trailers, and don't want to see these trailer topics on Tildes anymore, you can add trailers to your topic tag filters.

I find it unlikely the marketing team for a big budget movie knows that Tildes exists, and if they did, they'd need to get an invite, and have to consider doing this worth their time. If this was...

If this was Reddit or Twitter, I'd be more suspicious. cloud_loud just seems to like movies and makes a lot of posts about them.
Please don't bring that /r/hailcorporate reddit behavior here to Tildes. IMO, it's kinda dickish to accuse another user here of being a paid shill without any evidence whatsoever. Remember the...

@cloud_loud has been on Tildes for years, is a valued and highly active member of the community who is clearly exceptionally passionate about movies, posts all sorts of trailers, news, reviews, movie discussion topics, and often heavily critiques studios' decisions and mainstream movies like this (which a paid shill wouldn't be doing). And if cloud_loud hadn't posted all these new Superbowl release trailers then I likely would have, since I'm also a huge movie buff that likes to keep up with trailer releases and upcoming moves. That doesn't make either of us paid shills though. I just like movies, and discussing them with other users here. And I'm sure the same is true for cloud_loud.

I have fully lost track of the "new" PotA timeline. I don't know if I've even seen all of the first movie. The effects looked great though

Reminds me this for some reason.

The reboot trilogy was really well received especially the Reeves films (Dawn and War). This looks not good though.

There is no way this isn't a marketting push right? Added seconds after the superbowl ad?
If you look at @cloud_loud's post history, it's clear they are big into movies, so this post is not surprising.
They always release trailers online during the live super bowl ad.
I meant the tildes post. As in it was someone's job to make this tildes post
I wish
