That was before my time. I really like Joker. I’m a huge Todd Phillips fan, Hangover Part III was him starting to break out. He used the Hangover franchise to make this kind of off-beat crime movie. And then War Dogs hit and I loved it. I was on board with him since then.
The original’s release being surrounded with so much hysteria and fear mongering about shootings is hilarious. It was hilarious at the time and it’s even funnier in hindsight.
Phillips has an eye, and I am so pumped for this. I’m also a big Gaga fan, which I feel like there isn’t a big Venn diagram for guys in my position to be so into Gaga, but she looks so good in this.
Funnily enough it managed to not become a lasting darling for any political faction as far as I can see, and in an environment where even m&ms get assigned a side in the culture war that's quite...

The closest that movie got to energizing extremists was the fact that the gif of him dancing on the stairs is sort of popular.
How funny, I just watched Joker last night. I can't tell from this trailer how his character advances, but I sure like the look of its style and tone, and it somehow being a musical should be...

I just wish more superhero movies shifted to this kind of focus on character drama first, effects and superhero drama second. Give me some good writing and good acting and you can color the effects on later with crayons for all I care!

If this draws from The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and La La Land, that'll be hilarious... and might work.
I believe One From The Heart and New York New York were also inspirations for this
well, that's great news! I was thinking that the last thing we need is another Joker, but if they keep this up, it'll be worth it.

Nitpick : it's “à deux" not "á deux“.
