My favorite part of the Backrooms saga is how few discrete characters and lore have actually been explained. Watching this trailer, I get the sense that it's making the worst possible mistake by giving us real characters. If anyone else was directing it besides Kane Pixels, the creator of the original series, I'd be worried. But I've appreciated his storytelling approach so far; I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The aesthetic that really appeals to me (in Kane Pixels' Backrooms related videos and a lot of Backrooms media in general) is the "found footage" nature of it. I'm really hoping that this movie leans into that aspect of it a lot more than the trailer is giving, though I'd also be surprised if it does because I think found footage is a pretty niche sub-genre that turns off even a lot of horror fans.
I don't know what anyone is talking about, if someone showed this trailer to me and said it was an SNL skit with Chiwetel Ejiofor, I would 100% believe them without question. Doesn't look bad, but...

Doesn't look bad, but looks almost like a satire of meme based movies.

Most "backrooms" games aren't really interesting, but the videos from Kane Pixels are a must if you're even remotely interested in the vibes and aesthetics....
Here’s hoping they pull off something unique but my money is still on “character from earlier goes nuts and starts killing others”.

If the antagonist is not an inert physical structure, I will be very disappointed.
I watched the first half of the trailer and I'm optimistic.
After the teaser some time back, we get a glimpse at the plot and it looks interesting. I'll definitely check this out in theaters.
I was skeptical, but now, color me intrigued.

You'd just need to add Keenan going "nope, I'm good" when the others are wanting to explore the backrooms to make in an SNL skit.

That was actually the game I was thinking of.
I forgot it was a whole-ass meme genre for a bit.
