I would put it in the same tier as The Three Stooges film from 2012 or The Smurfs (in 3D) , in the sense that it uses an well known IP, but will end up as a forgettable, mediocre movie. Although we could say how sad it is, I don't wanna spend much time on that since I doubt they, the creators, did the same.
But I wanna write some words on my love of Tom & Jerry, I loved as a child watching some episodes because they were iconic and fun. I think I do now, yet I have the sensation that I watched because it was on the T.V., not because I chose it. Let me put it this way, I liked because I stumbled upon the cartoon and there wasn't a best thing to watch, not because I looked forward to watching it. That doesn't reduce its credit but it is an interesting thought since I don't know if I can enjoy it as much as I liked before, or if somebody feels the same way.
Even thought all of that, I will always be thankful since Tom & Jerry introduced me Jazz and Classical music, same thing can be said about Looney Tunes.

There's some shade being cast by other comments, but I'm actually excited for this based on the trailer. They appear to have adhered to a few key rules. Namely Tom and Jerry never speak, neither...
There's some shade being cast by other comments, but I'm actually excited for this based on the trailer. They appear to have adhered to a few key rules. Namely Tom and Jerry never speak, neither is ever permanently injured, and the comedy is focused on slapstick physical humor.
With that as the main drivers, you're left with a script that only needs to do just enough lifting to keep Tom and Jerry fighting for 90 minutes, and the human characters don't need any depth whatsoever to them.
Animaniacs reboot looks really, really good (as far as the numerous trailers go, anyway). The humor is there, the voice actors are there, and they seem to have modernized the animation well enough.

I’m so weary of these cheap pandering live-action with animated characters flicks. I miss quality theatric animated films, 2-D or otherwise. Disney or anime, you have two options these days....

I'm a sucker for these types of revivals (I was getting excited about the new animaniacs the other day!) but that looks … bad.

If you're gonna do a Roger Rabbit at least try to make as convincing as a movie made 30+ years ago. This just feels half-assed.
