Eclipse playlist recommendations
Okay, this is just for fun, what songs should go in an eclipse playlist? So far I have:
- Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler
- Here Comes the Sun - Beatles
- Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden (and a nice cover by Norah Jones)
- Soak Up the Sun - Sheryl Crow
- Blinded by the Light - Manfred Mann's Earth Band
- Steal My Sunshine - Len
- Eclipse - Pink Floyd
- Bishop's Death - Ladyhawke Soundtrack
- Sunglasses at Night - Corey Heart
- Bad Moon Rising - CCR
MIKA - Staring at the Sun
Jukebox the Ghost - Beady Eyes on the Horizon
Lights - Until the Light
...so tomorrow morning my wife and i are re-routing to ouachita national forest, which constitutes our seventh change across seven hundred miles this week due meteorological conditions...
...of course i can't resist the rare opportunity to wear my 2017 eclipse t-shirt from golden pond observatory in land between the lakes national recreation area: i told her it means i can boast about chasing eclipses back before they were cool, before the band sold out with their next album...
Obscured by Clouds
Wow, sounds exciting / stressful! We are limited by some time constraints, so headed up into the northeastern part of Ohio and hoping for the best.
It's a rare thing for it to be a positive thing to say, "may the sun be blotted out today" but here we are.
Doctor My Eyes by Jackson Browne. "Doctor, my eyes, tell me what is wrong, was I unwise to leave them open for so long?"

Immortal - Where Dark and Light Don't Differ
Probably something depressing given the current state of cloud coverage and all of us who have traveled to try and see the totality.
I hope it turned out well for you. We ended up in northeastern Ohio and it was pretty clear, just high whispy clouds. We had a great view. But it was definitely a dice roll.
We had some visibility while the eclipse was starting and then 100% cloud cover for most of it. It did go fully dark since we were in the path of totality, but the sun was nowhere to be seen. Next time.
