What are your favourite radio stations?
This is just to kick start what I expect will be a very, very, small (if any) conversation to share our favourite radio stations.
I personally still love listening to radio stations, mainly as it's an easy way to find new music from people who understand the genre typically more in depth and more refined taste than myself.
One of my personal favourites is La Jazz Radio by France Musique, no ads, and all types of mostly new and strange jazz from around the world (but mostly, of course France) with a little bit of some old ones thrown in. Their other stations are also equally very good,
What are some you would suggest?
KEXP is one of my absolute faves too, and where I have discovered a significant portion of my favorite new bands from (e.g. Among Authors). And if you or anyone else is looking for some similar Youtube channels, here's a few more I also highly recommend:
Indie88 Toronto <-- my fav local station
CBC Music
NPR Music
OurVinyl
Jam In The Van
SoFar Sounds
KNKX Public Radio
CandyRat Records
HI*Sessions
Onder Invloed / The Influences
WGBH Music
WXPN
Audiotree Live

La Blogothèque

COLORS
I used to listen to a rock station in my area called "Planet Rock". They played so much good stuff and introduced me to some of my favorite bands, like Incubus and Young the Giant in the early 2010s. They got taken over around 2012ish and the channel got really poor. Recently I found a Sirius station called Turbo that plays a lot of the same hard rock, which has been a big nostalgia hit for me lately.
I've enjoyed a few nostalgic programs on KFAI Community Radio in Minneapolis, most notably Crap from the Past. They have quite a wide variety of rock and jazz programming from all around the globe - Brit pop, African rhythms, yacht rock, death metal, etc.
Loving La Jazz Radio, thanks for that! Great jazz and it's helping me keep my French comprehension fresh.
Happy you enjoy it! I've been streaming perhaps more from that station than anything else throughout the day. Their contemporary and baroque stations are also quite good.
I have a long list of radio stations I like but these are the ones that stick out in my mind:
Mountain Chill
The Current
Vocalo
KRVM
WERA LP
Radio Paradise has been the best radio I've heard in a longtime. Excellent DJing, and ability to skip tracks and cache for offline listening on their mobile app is fantastic.
Radio Sidewinder is a in-universe fan radio station for Elite Dangerous. It's fantasic, especially the ads.
For local stations, it's hard to beat the combo of Ben FM and WMMR.
I always seem to forget about Radio Sidewinder. Thanks for the reminder! I haven't heard about Radio Paradise, I'll have to check it out.

I don't listen to a lot of radio outside of SiriusXM stuff (mainly 40s, Shade45, Business Radio, and the Yacht Rock station)
For online
I used to listen to Berlin Community Radio a lot, but they went under, which is a shame.
I pretty much just listen to the local NPR affiliate and KLSU, the local college station. On the Internet though, Tilderadio is dope.
