I had skimmed some things on the Bo French controversy, but hadn't realized the group he was being racist against in his comment on the UT football picture was people from India. Interesting and sad that the focus on African-Americans and Hispanic immigrants (especially Hispanics in occupations that don't require a college degree) has broadened to include Indians, especially those with darker skin.
To [French's] dismay, many of the exultant people in cowboy hats, burnt orange T-shirts and other spirit gear appeared to be of South Asian heritage...
Keeperman argued that the very fact that people like French objected to the picture of the football crowd showed that Indian Americans were not part of the American mainstream.
“Successful assimilation is precisely that you wouldn’t notice it,” Keeperman told Rufo. “The mere fact of us being able to notice — that no, this is not an assimilated group, this is just a bunch of Indians at the game — is itself sort of definitionally the case that they’re not yet assimilated.”
At another point, he called Indians “visibly conspicuous, in the way that darker-skinned people are.”

Yikes.

Because they're just. Super. Racist.
