I'm less disappointed in the USWNT (this WC seemed like the classic case of a team with aging "names" not making way for their more youthful counterparts, which generally leads to a disappointing finish regardless of gender or nationality) than I am in the internet commentators I've seen celebrating this loss because "Megan Rapinoe/the team 'hates America'". The Cult of Trump never ceases to amaze me in how low they'll go.
Heartbreaking after a match where the US played splendidly but couldn't get past Musovic. Musovic pretty much singlehandedly won Sweden the game, imo. The US had several good shots that were...

I hope the team isn't too hard on themselves, but I know professional athletes always are.
I'm not saying they should feel this way, but if I were a member of the USWNT, I would feel like our team totally failed after that overall tournament. I would console myself by saying other...
I'm not saying they should feel this way, but if I were a member of the USWNT, I would feel like our team totally failed after that overall tournament. I would console myself by saying other countries are getting better, etc., but the fact remains that it's the worst showing the team has ever had in a World Cup or Olympics.
I didn't watch any of the games for obvious reasons, so for all I know they were super heroic performances, but especially if I had the drive to get me onto a national team, there would be no way I could stomach that result.
The title could inform only about the event taking place, and people indifferent to knowing the result like you and me could click on the article, with people like @Kitahara_Kazusa remaining...

Fair solution in my eyes. As I understand it, this isn’t a platform where we’re supposed to merely glance at a headline and then comment about it, anyways… nor a true “just news” platform either.
The newsworthy part is the US losing. This is the second time ever that the US will fail to medal in an Olympics or World Cup, and it comes after winning the last two World Cups.

I'm kind of with Kitahara here, I also hadn't watched the game yet (it was on at 1:30am my time) and have football as one of the groups for my main page. I understand it is news but I didn't even...

Yeah, I watched it this afternoon with my dad. We record all the games and find times that work for both of us to get together. We did a double feature with the Netherlands/South Africa game. I...

I think this was a good lesson for me, I just won't be logging onto Tildes until after I've caught up on games I don't want spoiled. It's totally reasonable for people to discuss them when they happen. I do like Demios's fix if others are on board for it.
It's kind of tricky to enforce, but I think it feels more courteous to err on the side of avoiding spoilers. I edited this title to something more neutral, someone else can feel free to re-edit if...

Zecira Musovic, the Swedish keeper, did a superb job in this match.

Sorry if I'm being dense, but what are those obvious reasons?
The latest game started at 6 am my time.
@Deimos Can we ban titles that spoil sporting events?
for real??? uhm .. isn't this headline the definition of news? I want to learn the things that happened in the world.

Absolutely wasn't aware of the significance in that part of the headline! Mea culpa.
I would like to be able to watch sports events at not 2 am without knowing the winner in advance.

Were you actually going to watch the match after it aired?
