    ALBONOOOOOOOO LET'S GO

Track temps contributed I'm sure, but the Williams car is tough to overtake on DRS and Zandvoort is a tough track to overtake on corners, so I'm hoping for some more train conductor magic from Albon.

    Post race thoughts:

    • A tonne of drivers had great drives during portions of the race. Shame they didn't all get rewarded, but Gasly, Tsunoda and Alonso were superb today. Bottas had an unreal start, but the rain quickly quelled that dream. Shame for Zhou, although can't say it was anything greater than the team getting him into the right place.
    • Yeah, Max did it again.
    • Not sure what to make of Ferrari's pit stop with Leclerc. On one hand, he sort of sprung it on them. On the other hand, should they have pre-emptively prepared? IDK.
    • Hamilton really got away with the mistakes Mercedes made at the start.
    • Liked the race tempo, other than the red flag towards the end. Unclear whether we'd have kept the race going if all the drivers had successfully transitioned to the extremes, I'd like to think they would have. Alpine almost made a genius call there.
    • Perez, to some extent, was lucky with fourth. They clearly had to do some repair work during the red flag, I wonder how much.
    • Wish we could have had a standing start :(.
    • Lawson went under the radar, but great performance. Had to adapt to the mixed conditions too.

I feel like Sargeant is gonna get the boot after this season. Like I get he's a rookie and all, but then so is Piastri. Sargeant just makes too many costly mistakes. Whether or not it's fair to compare Piastri -- who appears to be somewhat of a phenom in his own right -- and Sargeant doesn't really matter, I don't think. If he does lose the seat, I wonder who would get it. The Williams Driver Academy only has F3 drivers, plus Jamie Chadwick, who's doing Indy NXT.

I think you might be right about Logey Bear but I do wanna say that his crash today was because he lost hydraulic pressure. So not really his fault, I think he did a great job this weekend.

Sargeant is a rookie even among the rookies. He was going to/should have had at least another season in F2, they decided to pull him up early rather than just getting a seat filler for a year or two. I think he would have to put in nothing but truly disastrous performances to be out this season, next season is his real test.

this whole weekend was depressing for us Sharl Lechair fans. It's surprising that Gasly's had near-flawless timing with the pits. It may be because its the first after the break, but this weekend had everything. The weather was perfect the entire weekend.

For my pool I had VERNORRUS and did not do very well. I also picked Hammy to make up the most spots, but Gasly scooped that too.

I was very impressed by Gasly too tbh, good for him. Charl Leclerc fans have had a rough time in general lately but yeah this Sunday was ROUGH for them.

on the bright side, Charles wasn't the only one taking some time out on the grass for a quick cry. Oddly enough, this is a win for the tifosi.

For Lawson in his F1 debut to just survive that first lap in one piece would have been a result. He did that, was within 1.3s of his teammate on the last lap, and ended up 13th after Yuki's last 5s penalty. Really impressive to me, looking forward to seeing him with a full contract in the future.

For those who have F1TV, definitely worth watching the F2 (Sunday) Feature Race. The first third/half was bananas.

Poor Vesti, indeed. I don't even understand how that happens. For two mechanics or their guns to fail so completely like that. And yep, I use Multiviewer! I don't use it all the time, but this...

And yep, I use Multiviewer! I don't use it all the time, but this weekend I did.
