Oh no! Are your seizures usually triggered by certain events or do they happen randomly?

My elderly cat developed a peri-anal fistula (don't google it), so I spent the day at an urgent care vet getting bumped back in the schedule because pets with foxtails in their faces kept showing up for urgent removals. I understand why we weren't the priority, but it still meant 5 exhausting hours in a waiting room with unhappy animals in various states of distress.

Thank you for your kind words. It's sorted to the degree that it can be, and we just have to hope for the best that she'll make a full recovery.

Spending more time at the dermatologist than I would prefer. Mole biopsies after I got the nerve to remove more that fit the ABCDE guidelines for skin cancer. Most I have been right about, they came back atypical. I'm hoping today's round are benign or atypical but clear margins. I know the awful sunburns I had in the past and my past lack of sunblock. I'd rather have the scars than the cancer. It's a strong reminder to protect and care for your skin, but also to advocate for yourself when it comes to doctors. You know your body best.

The rest of this weekend will be spent resting. And being on call for work.

Every time she visits her sister, I always think about stuff I've wanted to watch, but not subject her to. By the time she's off, I've forgotten about everything I wanted to watch.

This time I got smart and made a list!

I feel like I have a similar issue. I feel amazingly lucky to have someone in my life that I just enjoy doing things with, and whose interests mostly align with my own.

But there's still an ever-expanding list of things I'd like to do that I know don't interest her. And when I get the chance I end up doing what I can only describe as holding pattern activities. Like I'm just killing time until she gets back.

But tonight I'm watching Venture Bros. I was a massive fan, but it never clicked for the wife, and I ended up never finding time for the last 2 seasons. Well, I managed to watch through everything else now, and I'm finally getting to see the stuff I missed. It's fantastic.

Hope you're making progress on your list!

I've mostly been prepping for the upcoming start date for my job. It's a remote-first company and they subsidize co-working space memberships, so I toured a couple offices and ended up signing a month-to-month contract with one. WFH makes me lonely sometimes so I'm excited to try a shared office space... looking forward to receiving the equipment and figuring out what I want my setup to be.

I plan on working there every day, but in half-days or maybe on an offset schedule for the sake of my dog. I had an appointment this week to get her vaccinations updated so that I could bring her to get evaluated for a doggy day care once or twice a week given that I'd no longer be home as much... but, uh, the appointment was cancelled because someone drove a vehicle through the side of the vet office the day of. So.

(Nobody got hurt, I'm thankful it happened early in the morning so the building was empty.)

Oof. That's always rough. There's at least a couple of other people around who love working on their cars; if you wanted to talk more about what you've been up to I know you'd get some traction.

I think Im ok for now. I should've looked under the car before I started but it's low (81 Vette) and I was too lazy to jack it up, but now that I did, I see that there is fluid on the inside of one wheel. Im guessing the real reason is a leaking brake caliper. Surprisingly they sell the caliper on Amazon, so Ill replace that, bleed it all and hope that does the trick.

Busy at Work most of the week, we're getting ready to start a summer long project to upgrade our Core Network Infrastructure at the University I work at, so it's been a little crazy trying to get everything set up for that.

Other than that, I'm hoping for a relaxing weekend. Might go to the beach or go hiking with my wife and kids, haven't decided yet

I like it though, it's fun and challenging especially since this is my first summer at this University and it's new equipment I'm still learning, so I see it as a good opportunity

Fruitful days for commentary, eh? I can see as how it could be a full time job just keeping up with everything, and glad there's people like you helping make it more accessible to everyone else.

I just teach them how to do it without having to have it fall into the ole hierarchy traps.

Watched the new Spiderman movie with some old friends. Really enjoyed the movie and it was great seeing my friends too. I loved the art style in the original Spiderverse movie and they just took it to the next level with the latest movie. The soundtrack is also top notch and all the little details in the movie made it a really enjoyable watch.

I'm off today so was looking to sleep in but my yard guy showed up at about 8:45. I was gonna relax and piddle around a couple house projects but I was a tad too hungover to do anything else besides play Saints Row.

Every day this week has been work and medical appointments, except for yesterday, which was work and the dog park and feel defeated about my current medical drama that I’m disabled but not enough to get consistent care. I have another appointment in about half an hour where I’m sure I’ll get the same response and then I’m going to rest for the weekend. I was just cleared by my PT and ortho to stop wearing my walking boot for my sprained ankle. Yay me, I guess.

I’ve spent a lot of this week just gaming with friends. Been making some nice progress through the story of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne with a friend. I also made it up to Silver rank in Street Fighter 6 which I’m very proud of considering I started the game at the lowest rank! This weekend I’ll be going to a pride parade in my state’s capital and meeting up with some friends I haven’t seen since I moved home from college for the summer. Very much looking forward to that.

I got a job at a pizza restaurant. I've been out of a job for a long time and I finally found a place that'll give me a chance. I already liked to eat their food, so working there is a pretty neat experience. https://imgur.com/38XjJoM This is a pizza I got to make for myself my first day there on Thursday. Overall it's a good job. They let me wear headphones so the time goes by quickly and I only work a few hours a day anyways.

Then today I went to my mother's house to mow her lawn for her. The front wheel got stuck and wasn't moving. So I stopped the mower and knelt down to take a look and there was a fist sized bubble coming out of the tire which promptly exploded in my face. It made my nose bleed and ruined a good shirt. Made my ears ring for hours too.

Almost eight months ago I started a demolition and remodel of our basement half-bathroom, but it stalled because of an unrelated knee injury followed by surgery. Now approaching full health, I'm back at it, attaching paneling over a concrete block wall, painting, installing trim boards to support towel racks and such. Everything takes longer than it should and I've lost track of how many hardware store trips I've taken, but it's not the kind of project I have tackled before and I am learning as I go.

Hopefully it won't be long before I can start installing fixtures. The question is whether I can finish all that without pro plumbing help. I have been looking at a lot of DIY videos and it all makes sense more or less.

I had a pretty busy week at work. One of the first weeks where I actually felt like a senior dev. People came to me with problems, I had to distribute some work, and I had to untangle some git shenanigans. This weekend is pretty busy as well. We're up early to go pick one of our children up from away camp. The camp is about two hours away from pretty much anything and they scheduled pickup time at 9:30am. Doesn't make much sense to me. I hope everyone here has a good weekend.
