Teknik.io registration is open for a few more hours!
EDIT: signups are now closed.
teknik.io is a website that provides services like email, [encrypted] file uploads, Git repos, blogs, URL shortening, and more. I've used them for a few years and they're wonderful. It's all open-source and privacy conscious, maybe some Tildes users would like it?
Registration is usually invite-only, but it's open for a few hours.
Thanks @duckoverflow for mentioning this.
Edit: also their privacy policy is short, simple, and easy-to-read if anyone is interested in that. I'd consider it a great example of what a privacy policy should be.
RIP. I tried to sign up, now my username is taken but it says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Is this the first time in our history something has been Tilde~ed...?
I just signed up successfully, for what it's worth.
I subscribed and begun looking around the git section... well this I didn't expect: https://git.teknik.io/Teknikode/Teknik - The next generation of the Teknik Services. Written in ASP .NET
ASP.NET MVC 5 is the most current branch. There is nothing inherently wrong with using Microsoft technology.
oh no, I didn't meant that. It's just that I don't run in asp.net made stuff since.. more than 10 years I think.
Malwarbytes is blocking the site.

Kinda makes sense if they publicly serve arbitrary file uploads. Apparently flagged since May 2017:

And looking at the owner's Malwarebytes Forums posts it looks like Malwarebytes isn't the fastest at dealing with this...
I like disroot.org too
I found them to be quite unreliable and slow, at least when it comes to file hosting.
I mostly use them for uploading screenshots, URL shortening, and occasionally the pastebin or vaults, and it's been very reliable so far.
Is it slower with larger file uploads?
Nope, just slow in general. Not always, but pretty often, and not just uploads, but downloads too. I'm guessing they introduced required registration for that reason.
Thank you - I've needed a different mail domain for a another identity cell for a while now and just hadn't gotten around to it.
Ah damn, looks like I just missed it. Hadn't heard about it, but it sure looks interesting. What exactly is the "vault"?
A vault is basically like an Imgur album, except that you can have both uploads (images and other files) or pastes.
Oh, I see. The way it is listed on the website made me think it was a separate feature from the file hosting stuff.
