The Raspberry Pi 400 keyboard is a little on the small side for adult hands, but I can see this being perfect for kids, or as a living room entertainment controller.
Thanks for sharing this! I love how the team borrowed this design from older manufacturers and gave it a modern rendition. This setup could be really cool as a replacement for some laptop use...

This setup could be really cool as a replacement for some laptop use cases. There are several 21” portable monitors now. Combine the portable monitor with the RP400 and you have a wonderfully portable system.
I absolutely love everything about this. And the fact that you have access to everything including the GPIO right on the back is pretty awesome. But the old fogey in me is upset there is no 10key...

I wonder if they’ll ever release a laptop... I’ve Been thinking about this literally yesterday. I wonder what the cheapest possible portable all in one computer would be.
Considering most houses have a TV, I'd say this is about as cheap as you can get. If you really want a laptop, I'd just get a Chromebook and install Linux.

I'm considering buying a few for my nieces, who are just about old enough to start experimenting with things like this.

There are arm based laptops such as the pinebook which is essentially what raspberry pi laptop would be.

Pretty cool! I do wish it included a full-size HDMI port, but shipping with a micro HDMI to HDMI cable seems like a nice way to make up for that.
