MS has been pretty good with the acquisitions in terms of bringing them into the fold without totally borking them. Way better than an IPO... its a shame.
The point is Microsoft can afford to run it at a loss until they find a direct monetization strategy that works. Discord cannot. Discord + IPO = practically guaranteed data sale edit I repeated...

No, I'm saying that an IPO might force that, as opposed to an acquisition from a large company that can afford to run Discord at a loss.
