Oops. I was planning to post a topic for this, and then make a new invite thread in /r/tildes, like I did last year. But I totally forgot today was the day! So thanks for reminding me,...

Happy birthday, Tildes! And thanks again to @Deimos for making this site (and keeping it running). Even though we have had some growing pains over the years, and there is still the occasional heated argument, IMO this is the best little link aggregator community on the net. I love it here, genuinely enjoy spending time here, and have come to love, respect, and appreciate all the people here too. Tildes wouldn't be the same without all you lovely people. :)
I've just noticed that I've been here 5 years (and a few days). I seem to have joined Tildes only about 5 weeks after the site was created (2 June 2018). Wow. I didn't think I'd arrived here that...

I've taken breaks from Tildes, but I still keep coming back. sigh
Looks like development has slowed down considerably and still no user created ~ permitted, wondering about the longevity of this site as a replacement for Reddit with the ridiculous API changes...

Anyone have any info on this as there will likely be an influx of users based on the invite thread on Reddit, so more just asking in advance.
While there are some planned features, there's nothing truly broken about the site, user created groups have never been part of the plan, nor has Tildes ever been intended to be a reddit replacement.

Thanks for all you do, @cfabbro and @Deimos !
Has it really already been 5 years? Damn..!
Yes thank you to all you smart MFs who post on here so I can try and cast away my ignorance. I have learned a lot by semi lurking.
Five years has flown by.

Speaking as a new user, congrats on the anniversary! Sorry I haven't been around to see the first five years, but I'll be around for a lot more
