Well, I guess we won't be seeing much of you on here today. Have fun answering all the HN questions... we will help answer them when we can as well, if that's cool with you. And at least most...

Neat, also interesting to see how different the discussion there is from what I am used to seeing on reddit a lot these days. I just realized that reddit for a large part has grown a very cynical pessimistic undertone in the conversation about many subjects these days. Not on all subreddits, just enough to make me take notice.
The conversation HN is different just people being curious and it is something I hope to see here as well once it grows bigger (Which I am sure it will).

HN is one of my favourite general discussion forums, despite mostly being discussions about stuff that is WAY above my intelligence level. I've been on there for many years, and have always wanted a general version of HN with the same positive-discussion focus and heavy (but fair and appropriate) moderation.
Already these last few days, ~ has replaced reddit for me, and I'm extremely satisfied with just having HN and ~ as my discussion sites.

The HN mods changed @deimos title and I suspect he got flagged and/or mod weighted since it went from #16 or so to off the front page entirely in a matter of minutes. If it was shenanigans on HN’s part, that is not really surprising though considering HN is a VC hub and tildes being nonprofit threatens their very business model. Either way it was a success and too much attention this early can be a bad thing.
Not only that but as a result of the HN post it has already spread to /r/redditalternatives (and not by us) so that's good. The seed has been planted.
I have so many emails. Currently just trying to reply to some of the good questions people are asking there.
I came to tildes from an hn attempt (never got more than a couple of votes.) Keep up the good work!

RIP Deimos. We maybe will see him again sometime next week.
91 points in 1 hour, slot #39.
91 points in 4 hours, slot #7.
I truly don't get HN's ordering algorithm.

Also getting attention due to an r/science thread, that brought me here. First post!
Well uh
There's some attention!
This is pretty good. :D Building some hype.
Congratulations! I love the concept and would love to help!
