What about a group specifically for "ask" topics?

If you look at the ~talk group you'll see that most it is questions and a few other groups also have significant amounts of questions. Wouldn't that warrant it's own group?

I think that it's a very bad idea to do this, similar to how it's a bad idea to have one for "videos" because the format of the media that we are consuming is not a good way to categorize topics. It's much better to have things categorized properly, and be able to ask people with the relevant interests directly than to have one place that is dedicated to answering questions.

That said, I think there's an underlying thing, which is that it would be very nice to look at all "asks" across topics, and I think that's actually possible with the tagging system, so we end up with something that's really beneficial; a great categorization that doesn't conflate medium with topic, and a good way to sort by medium as well.

Yup! A tag search for "ask" turns up all of them regardless of location.

In the future if the ask threads become too overwhelming, yeah. But I don't see a need for that right now.

I wouldn't want an ~ask unless it'd only be for questions like "How do I use x?" or "What's the difference between x and y?". In my opinion, questions like "What's your opinion on x?" don't need their own group.
