Is anyone watching Widows Bay? (Apple TV)

Can't get enough of this show right now and curious what people think so far. Feels as if Stephen King wrote Parks and Rec.

There's back to back scenes where they have some actually good horror (with some fun references thrown in too!) with an actually good comedy moment and SOMEHOW the comedy doesn't take me out the horror. It's not even a speedbump.
Really excellent writing and direction. If you'd asked me before I'd have said that it wouldn't be possible to mix the two genres so well, especially as so many have tried and usually end up as pure parody.

It sounds like you have only watched some of it so far. When you mentioned that it seems like Stephen King wrote Parks & Rec, did you realize that the creator of the show Katie Dippold was a writer on Parks & Rec? And each episode has sort of a theme that references other horror books and/or movies?

I also like listening to podcasts about some of the shows that I watch. For this show, I recommend The Prestige TV Podcast with Joanna Robinson and Rob Mahoney.

I'm surprised they did Cape Fear when its one of the worst shows to ever exist.

It's on my list as basically everyone is raving about it. Sadly all I can contribute but i'll probably start it this weekend.

you're in for a treat. You can binge or spread it out -- either will be equally enjoyable.

One of my favorite shows in years! So glad they’re greenlit for season 2.

The “wolves” calendar bit in the first episode absolutely killed me. Didn’t disappoint from then on!
