I would have been more excited over a spin-off (or continuation, or sequel, or even (by a tiny margin) a prequel) than a reboot. The reboot treatment should in my opinion be reserved for franchises that had great potential but was mismanaged. A reboot of Firefly stands little chance of being better than the original.
Not interested. The world of Firefly is not that cool, it was the characters and I don’t need to see a bunch of 50+ year old versions of them having adventures. If I wouldn’t accept a continuation...

Sometimes good things just die young and you have to accept it.

My source tells me they’re planning to target it more at a PG-adventure, family audience and less at the sort of PG-13 dynamic the original Joss Whedon show went for.
hmpf…

That said I have no doubt the reboot can be a high quality series. Firefly's universe has a ton of untapped potential. Enough that even a watered-down non-whedon retelling can be great. Just… yeah, it's probably gonna have to be completely separate from the existing show then.
I have doubts, for three reasons. Disney would punt a series that is not a core IP onto Hulu. Disney already has multiple financially successful sandboxes for exploring roguish found families in...

Disney already has multiple financially successful sandboxes for exploring roguish found families in space with a PG (13) rating.
If this story was any more credible than one fanblog and their anonymous source, all the fanblogs would have picked it up.
Giant Freakin Robot is not a "fan blog", it's fast becoming a publication known for its insider scoops. E.g. Liana Keane, the author of this article, is also who first reported that Wonder Woman...

Not that your skepticism isn't warranted, but this isn't just idle speculation from some random person on the internet; It's from a publication and author that have both established at least some credibility already.

I'm not freaking out, you are.
