I just recently started learning Japanese on Duolingo. It's only been 12 days so still very new to it. I got injured at work so I've been at home with a lot of free time and wanted to do something that was more productive than what I had been doing day to day. Also watch a lot of anime lol so it would be cool to be able to watch eventually without subtitles or dubs and hopefully that can be a way to immerse myself in the language as well. But duolingo has been fun so far I really like the way they approach introducing the language and how they encourage you to stay consistent. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking to start on something.

There's a lot of data that shows running backs are only good through their first contract, particularly first round RBs, who get their 5th year option exercised. This means they're starting their 6th year on any new contract. Almost every single RB in that situation (there are always exceptions of course) falls off and under performs according to that new, high salary contract. I think owners have recognized the pattern and don't want to be stuck holding the bag for a regressing position player that can be "somewhat" easily replaced in the draft for pennies on the dollar. Idk what the long term fix could be. Maybe shorten rookie RB contracts to 3 years with no extension options, that way when they hit that 6 year mark, they're in the last year of their second contract. Or add a higher vet minimum for RBs that escalates with the salary cap every year (%). I do think the franchise tag is probably doing more harm for the situation than anything else currently. It's probably going to take several highly visible RBs sitting a season out together to force any kind of change from the league and owners, if that would even matter. I'd like to think their union would do more but they've been a joke for years. It's a shitty situation bc most of these guys are game changing athletes, and core members of their respective teams, and the game quality will suffer in the end if something isn't changed.

Possibly to make it more difficult for players that maxed out their characters in the first 2 or 3 weeks after release. Streamers and gamers that play constantly seem like the target for the nerfs. Make them take the whole season to max out a new character. It's only hurting casual fans like myself that don't won't any part of the time required now. I won't be playing anymore.

Band is Dawn Heist and this is their song Zenith. Very firmly in the Djent category of Rock and Metal. I don't think they're even together anymore and they only released 2 albums but the first one (with this song) is one of my all time favorites that literally no one knows about.

I hear so many different labels nowadays, but since the bands you listed are some of my favs, I figured I'd drop some of the new bands I've been listening to. Wage War, Sprirtbox, Sleep Token, and After the Burial are a few that are relatively new bands. Others that are still putting out new music are Gojira, I Prevail, Dayseeker, Jinjer, and Currents.

That's a good point. I'm a huge NFL fan but I think I filter most of these "stats" through a fantasy football perspective nowadays. So, I do find little tidbits like this useful when it comes to getting a little edge here and there. But, when we're actually discussing football, you're right, and there's really no point to the stat other than cherry picking numbers.

I'm confused by what you mean when you say this stat is arbitrary. They took every route each WR ran against man coverage and gave the win rate a number. That isn't arbitrary in the slightest. It doesn't show the whole picture at all, if that's what you mean, but it's an important statistic that shows a WRs ability to get open and make plays against a single defender. I don't think anyone is claiming St. Brown is the best receiver in the NFL but this metric is very telling for pure athleticism and talent as well as target opportunity. Obviously the guys most targeted in man coverage are probably the most trusted and/or most targeted by the QB on that team. And it's entirely possible that truly elite guys like Justin Jefferson, Chase, Brown, and Hill don't actually see single coverage near as much as someone like St. Brown. It's all just pieces of a larger picture.

I'm not sure which platform you're using (phone, android version, etc) but I was able to create a shortcut that opens in chrome and it's basically an app icon like any other that I moved into my socials folder in the same spot RIF used to sit in. It's obviously running in chrome but it's been super smooth and easy to use. Seems like a pretty easy work around. For what it's worth I'm on Pixel 6a running Android 13.

Highly recommend Pixel Buds Pro. Probably at the top of your price range but the sound is fantastic, the battery life is great, they match the physical description you gave, and they have ANC. Simple and easy to use UI as well. Only drawbacks I've noticed is the ANC isn't the best ever but for my purposes it's been fine (gym mainly) and the max volume is a little lower than I would expect. Although I can't comfortably listen at that range I'm not sure how loud you'd need them for a motorcycle ride.

I've listened to it but it's been a really long time. I like F.E.A.R off of it. As far as the electro-metal thing goes I think that's what originally turned me off to the album as well. But I think I've been listening to more of that sound over the past year so when I revisited it I was able to appreciate it a little bit more but I definitely get that that sound is not what originally drew me to them.

I really didn't like their new album either but I finally sat and ran back through it a few times earlier this year and it's has grown on me a lot. Gone, Shock to the System, IDK, and Vengeance are some that I play consistently now.

I definitely see your point. Although I think Robocop and Total Recall were much better films, campy is a great word to describe them all. For some reason Starship Troopers will always be the that movie that is way better than it should be imo. There is certainly much worse out there, but other than shock value or laughs, I'd have a hard time recommending any of them. Although, Cocaine Bear is pretty close to that level lol.

I've been listening to Sleep Token pretty much non-stop. Their new album Take Me Back to Eden has been the best album of the year for me so far. Just discovered them about 4 months ago and I'm a little obsessed. Genre bending a little...they could fit Rock, Metal Core, Djent, R&B, Pop, and Progressive. Just depends on the song. Highly recommend Granite as a first listen. Aqua Regia, DYWTYLM, and The Summoning to get a feel for their diversity. Take Me Back to Eden is probably my favorite song on the album though.

I'm approaching 40 and I don't live in the same city as most of my gaming friends now. My gaming experience has evolved into spending time with them regardless of the game. Especially games that we can play together but we can also progress individually. Valheim recently, Diablo 4 currently. I don't mind the hours or the grinding as long as I can be in chat and we can spend a few hours enjoying something together. Single player games have been few and far between. So I guess the social aspect and community is a priority over actual gaming experience. Also, fps is definitely losing it's luster. Saw a few comments already about that and couldn't agree more. Everything is so sweaty and I'm far to casual enjoy the experience at this point. We had 100's of hours into Apex but finally couldn't take getting steamrolled in every lobby lol.

As far as a modern game goes the first thing that came to mind was Valheim. You can't even really tell what your character looks like and the background is just okay. But the gameplay is amazing and by far my favorite survival game. I have nearly 700 hours into multiple play throughs and the devs are still releasing new content regularly.
