The title made me imagine that the leader of the IFF is determined by a fencing match and not seemingly corrupt politics and I was very disappointed.

My favorite version of this is the Pythagoras cup version. Same idea with a cap (100 million is pretty low, my version was a billion but we can figure out what the cap is later). But in my version if you become wealthy enough to pass the cap almost all of your wealth is distributed evenly across the nation. We would leave the attempted billionaire with the same amount of wealth that the average American owns including assets. We would of course have to greatly increase funding for the IRS and crack down on things like secret off shore accounts, but no one would be a billionaire in my administration.

    Hobby: Disc Golf or Pickleball

Both are super fun and cheap to get started with. A disc start set will run you like $20 and then it's just gas to drive to your local course. If you don't have one you can get a practice net for like $60-70 off amazon. Pickleball is just the cost of a paddle which is $40-60 (and up if you get serious) and a few balls for like $10. If your town doesn't have pickleball courts you can tape one out at a tennis court with the measurements online, or they sell nets online for like $100 for a cheap one.

The one streaming service a month method has served me well for years. Though I'm someone that doesn't care about watching things right when they come out. It also makes the price increases less of an issue and the few extra dollars a month for ad free not a big deal. Sign up, immediately cancel, then when the month is up decide if you want to continue it move on to another service. It's a bit more effort, but it's well worth it and cheaper in the long run.

This is surprising since it has a really bad reputation in SF. This article gives some good examples of the dangerous things they still do. It has driven people to mess with and even destroy them.

This is laughable now, but it won't be long until AI starts entering that uncanny valley where they seem real enough that legal arguments like this might hold up.
