To me there’s nothing like Glen Miller playing out of a vintage standing radio while you just look out your window and catch a sunset. Feeling time pass. All the things that are gone and the old things that are still here.

Exactly, this place feels distinguished and kind. It’s almost like we know the kind of future that we are trying to build.

Thanks in advance. Sorry for any eye rolls I may have caused!

My favorite is a bowl of instant pudding layered with gram cracker crumble, cool whip, and topped with chocolate crumbles.

I think those are my favorite low effort party foods that I don’t end up having to take home any leftovers!

For the past few years I have been hyper fixated on 1960s captain crunch cereal prizes whistles.

People figured out that the tone was a frequency that let you bypass long distance calling fees.

First thing I look for on articles is a date. I gather this must be recent? I’m a tad daft, but couldn’t find it in the article.

I guess that’s why ephemera is such an important word in its description. Circa 2012-2016 felt farm more prime before a lot of slightly specialized citations came to bear. Thanks for your input!

My sweet spot is 1930-50 heterodyne radios like Philco etc.

I’m trying to build enough inventory to have a store or something like that, but honestly, the soldering and problem solving the amount of space is pretty fun.

I think I’ve only set two fires early on haha

I think at the end of the day your heart just has to go to where your inspiration lies. I just love old radios.

Back in the day https://ffffound.com/ was one of my biggest inspirations for imagery and creative ephemera.

I miss it sometimes and have a vast archive of downloaded inspiration. I discovered a lot of material under the radar of pop culture.

Kind of like picking up a circa 2009 vice magazine from a shop. I was seeing and feeling things that felt textural and well curated.

Is there something around that I haven’t seen?

My two kids aged 6&8 love the game munchkins. I feel like I am maybe trying to prep my kids for D&D. Kinda selfish, but they love the idea of equipment and leveling up their character.

As someone with a family and lots of responsibilities, I dream of being able to live more simply.

As I got older camping felt like “cosplaying” homelessness whereas RVs felt more glamorous on sizzling southern nights.

I grew up poor and had many setbacks, and thought maybe I would be happier homesteading or farming. But then I would visit family that lives that way and after a few days I start to miss my creature comforts.

I have lots of respect for people that can manage a more simple life and hope to move towards that when I find something that works for me.

Succession is something they would love. It’s like a fake behind the scenes of the Murdoch family.

Ozark is dark, but masterfully written.

Let me know what they would like out of those and I have more suggestions!
