Since I didn't see you mention it, you've got to check out Monkey Island, specifically the Monkey Island 2 remake (can purchase on Steam I believe) and Monkey Island 4 (no idea how to get that one to run on a modern computer). The series started back in the 80s when Lucas Arts made a lot of very original content. Some see it as a gold standard for point-and-clicks. They're hilarious, the puzzles are goofy and challenging, and the characters and dialogue might even be iconic today if the series had just a bit of a larger following. I still see subtle references to them in easter eggs in modern games though. Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango are cut from the same cloth as well and are just as good, but they're not from the same series. Those two also had recent remakes.

Also, I'll throw out two that are not quite point-and-clicks that are really interesting and kinda experimental. One is notpron, which is a website based riddle game that is very, very challenging. Another is Stories Untold. It doesn't have the challenge of what I'd call a true point-and-click, but it's very cool unconventional story-telling with a huge payoff in the end. It's also a bit creepy.

I honestly think the option might be nice as long as it's not mandatory.

    Pro:
It might remind the person reading your bio that you're a human person with feelings and shows you something about them.

    Con:
Might make people more likely to respond to how they perceive that person rather than the idea they're presenting.

This alone. I was sitting in the theaters watching a trailer for some film (I think the new Matthew McConaughey movie) and just straight up had to shut my eyes and plug my ears half way through so I didn't see more. It spoiled a ton of it. And a lot of films do this.

Sun Ra - Space Is The Place You have to be really far down the rabbit hole into 70s jazz to dig this one.

Joon Moon - Moonshine Corner Pop or indie or something? It's chill, and the singer is really good.

I like that album, but I've been taking a break from Kanye since Ye came out. With the last song on Ye something just clicked into place that misogyny in hip hop is a problem. Like of course it's always been a problem, but then I saw a thread on /r/kanye where all of these users (a lot of them younger) were looking at the lyrics of "Violent Crimes" and saying this is how women should be treated. Glad you're digging KSG though, it's got some gems.

I do find it interesting how many times I’ve been shown the door in this discussion

I don't think anyone wants to exclude you just to exclude you, dude. It's basically impossible for one person to quickly change the culture in an online community. So the options are to deal with it or leave, and since you sound like you don't want to deal, people are suggesting you might be happier leaving. Basically you do you, we'll be good either way. Maybe it's that you're younger than the average age here. I've noticed older people tend to write more formally. But the way people talk here seems pretty normal to me.

Edit: Or to put it another way, what do you think would happen if you went and told a subreddit they all sound really self-absorbed? I don't think you should be getting any negative response at all personally, but the feedback you're getting is pretty tame for what you might expect elsewhere.

I'm going to throw out a different opinion here: it can be great and I think it could have a place here as we expand the groups.

Basically, we post a lot of content here that's tough to swallow. Like most things in ~enviro and a lot of ~news. Having a place to go after reading those can make it easier to not entirely block out tough but important articles.

In order to get it to work well, we'd need it to meet the standard here for higher-effort content. That could look like detailed articles about good things happening or music, writing, or things made by people here that just revolve around the theme of positivity. I think it would be a thing more down the road, but I'd appreciate it if it was done well.

I think reputation is an interesting idea. I think to get it to work it also might be necessary to require an email so you can't spin up a bunch of accounts and use their voting power to make new power users as the site grows. The way it's implemented on Stackoverflow is really effective I think. That community has its shortcomings, but overall the content there is pretty good.

I will miss when this community isn't tight-knit though a bit. It's cool recognizing users here.

Speaking of which, just curious, are you a mod person here or something? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm totally new to this, I just see you posting everywhere.
