I loved the Music Instrument Museum in Pheonix, AZ. They have a theramin and a balinese gamelan that you can play. They also have a 2 story tall string bass (the octobass). https://mim.org/

Don't get special shoes, or special pedals that attach to those shoes. ...Even the pros aren't sure there's a benefit to attached feet any more.

Games took over my life for a long time. I strongly relate to the rush and focus you describe. I also remember feeling like a fraud. It was like I had a dirty secret that would ruin me if anyone found out.

Don't give up on yourself. Sometimes therapy takes a while to click. Sometimes you need to try different approaches. Just don't give up.

I'm gonna jump up on my soapbox and yell a lil bit. Imo, these school choice programs are just union busting. They cut funding to public schools to the point of failure, then clutch their pearls about the poor quality of public education. They create this alternative system where they don't have to negotiate with the teachers union and they get to extract profit from public money.

Thank you for reading my rant.

I know this is cliche, but The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo helped me a lot. I felt like I could never throw ANYTHING away and I was constantly living in clutter. I realized that my "stuff" is not just stuff, but its my future projects (I'll never start), artifacts from my past, gifts from family that I'll never use but still keep out of obligation, random bits and pieces kept "just in case", and so on. The book taught me how to let go of these attachments and regain control of my belongings. I read it over 10 years ago and I still find myself saying thank you to stuff as I toss it in the dumpster. I know this book isn't for everyone, but it helped me. Good luck on your clutter journey!

This year I'm trying out growing chick peas in a small patch. I heard they can be dried like you get in the store or eaten green in the pod.

The biggest way that tildes has affected my internet habits is that there's almost no memes here (at least no image with funny caption posts). I discovered that I was hooked pretty hard on finding the next funnyclever picture. I find that I spend time on this site "by choice" while on others it more like I have to pry myself away.
