The toxic component in apples is amygdalin.
When metabolized, amygdalin could release about 0.03 mg of cyanide per seed. The lethal dose of cyanide for humans is estimated to be 0.5–3.5 mg per kg of body weight.
A typical apple has 5–10 seeds. You'd need to chew and ingest around 15–20 apples to reach potentially lethal cyanide levels for an average adult (~70 kg). Before reaching lethal levels, symptoms of cyanide poisoning (dizziness, nausea, headache, confusion) could appear at much lower doses—around 4–5 apples.
Even if you stick to "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" you'll still be fine.
Urushiol in mango's is a slightly different story as some people are more allergic to this than other people.
Whereas all people are similarly allergic to cyanide. -

I would argue that even if you've never played Halo it's a great story in itself. The Remembrance of Earth's Past by Cixin Liu is also great hard militaristic sci fi. Bonus points because this is a Chinese writer so the sci fi concepts are different than most Western writers.

It's the green star shapped part on top of the strawberry.
It can be a nuisance to remove so I often don't bother.
If I'm making something (cake, dessert, etc.) for other people I'll remove it though. The kiwi skin ads a sour taste, I do rub in it on some cloth to get some of the hairs of.
It's also better with the yellow kiwis as they tend to be sweeter which works well with the sour skin. -

Sunkiller So if I understand correctly the sauce is uncooked, only whipped? This would mean eating two cloves of uncooked garlic. RIP to whomever you're talking to after eating this dish.So if I understand correctly the sauce is uncooked, only whipped?

Started some literature in my native language as a pallet cleanser but after 20 pages it all seemed way to familiar. Checked my Storygraph and found out I read it back in 2023 and didn't enjoy it at the time so I decided to stop reading that one.
I started 2312 from Kim Stanley Robinsson. Really liked his Mars series so we'll see where this takes me.

I also like to do (virtual) spinning classes as your easily motivated to stay on the bike and push harder.I've done some calorie counting in the past with MyFitnessPal but it's indeed a huge mess nowadays.
I disliked all alternatives like Chronometer, FatSecret or Lose It! As it was all trying to be way to polished.I've experimented a bit with ChatGPT for tracking calories. There's this Calorie Tracker GPT.
Where you can send a pic of your dish and it will guestimate the amount of calories.
It works easy but it doesn't store the information in a log for daily or weekly reports. -

This data can be sent back to the company.
The government can take this data and link it to me.I don't want my own government to know where I drive my car but that's not going to be possible as there's loads of camera's on the high way.
As an EU citizen I certainly don't want a government outside the EU to have this data. What if the Chinese government sees I'm going to a club every week where people meet to discuss the liberation of Uyghur people? I might end up on a list and the next time I have to visit China for work I'm fucked.
I must add this data thing is a pet peeve of mine. I don't expect this to be the general consensus.
I jump through all these hoops to try to protect my data. I use protonmail instead of something like gmail. I use Nextcloud for data storage instead of something like Dropbox or Google Drive.
I get that these precautions in the end are in vain.
If a foreign government wants my data they'll get it but I don't want to hand it over willingly. -

I was looking into getting a new car recently and was looking into EVs.
I quickly made the decision not to get a Chinese EV as the amount of data EVs (and smarter) cars generate is a lot. I'd rather not be sending that data straight to the Chinese government.
If I would've chosen an EV I would've probably gone for a Skoda. My data would still be in the hands of a megacorp but at least it would be one that's in the EU/NATO. -

Could you share some pictures of you're home or wherever you keep these artifacts?
I read that in the same way you're pointing it out. If you only want to go A to B (use the browser for everything) most Linux distros are fine.
But if you want to go from C to A big chance you'll have to do some tinkering.
Following from this the tinkering in itself might become a hobby/time sink.
