    1 week later edit: Thank you to everyone who offered advice based on their experience. I got a taste of different stories however the tl;dr seems to be:

    • be honest, even if the truth is ugly
    • constant open communication
    • stay true to yourself
    • dont rush things; let things happen naturally
    • if things don't turn out well; then thats just life

    Fortnite is the perfect formula for eSports. Free to play game that does not require much to run. Actually FUN TO WATCH. Not hard to explain to a random person what's going on, just "Yeah these guys just wanna be the last squad/man standing". But then watching pro players do their crazy builds and quick one pumps is incredible.

    Epic knows this and are tossing in the big bucks.

    It'll be interesting how a big company handles eSports. Where Blizzard tried to force Overwatch into a competitive game, Fortnite feels like it has natural interest.
