From what I hear, NVIDIA can't actually keep the H100 in stock as the supply is bottlenecked by CoWoS.
I think the gulf between Gaming and Datacenter will only widen as Blackwell will release 1H24, well before Ada-Next.

The gist is:
Companies have to provide components and tools to individuals and third party repair shopsRepair shops must divulge the source of their components (aftermarket, used or original)
Components that are part of any existing anti-theft system (like Face ID) are exempt from these rules.
For products sold for over $100, companies must make the components, tools and documentation available for at least 7 years.

Gross Margin up 26.6pts Y/Y
Net Income up 843% Y/Y
Datacenter Revenue up 171% Y/Y (10.32B$)
Gaming Revenue up 22% Y/Y (2.49B$)
Automotive Revenue up 15% Y/Y (253M$)The gulf between Datacenter and Gaming shocked me. I remember - not so long ago - that Gaming was their most profitable division. Now Datacenter has skyrocketed.

Comment on NVIDIA debuts AI-enhanced real-time ray tracing for games and apps with new DLSS 3.5 in ~comp

We can already to some degree see the difference in the temperament of corporations with respect to PC v Console, where in the latter consumers are weakened by the locked-down operating systems.
Console players are required to pay for multiplayer, regularly pay for next-gen upgrades, have to play older games at comically low framerates and resolutions - if they can play them at all. They suffer higher prices in general due to the platform holder enjoying a monopoly on their respective digital store and many more anti-consumer behaviour to list in full.
In my opinion, cloud gaming would, eventually, only worsen this issue as the consumer is weakened even more and that any reprieve is temporary. Sailing upwind and all that. -

Makes me wonder if he possessed insider knowledge such a long time ago. Or maybe it was just a impressively accurate educated guess.
It's good to see NVIDIA continue to innovate - AMD certainly isn't going to start any time soon.
Tangent: I feel like the PC (especially for gaming) is on life support, barely kept alive by the community and vanishingly few corporations. DirectStorage, for example, is still incomplete. Even the (subpar compared to the PS5) shader-based GDEFLATE support in version 1.2 was developed by NVIDIA.

Yudhayvavhay The lack of any mention of raytracing in either the marketing material or the system reqs has me a bit disappointed - Starfield looks like it could benefit greatly from ray traced (local) shadows. The lack of any mention of raytracing in either the marketing material or the system reqs has me a bit disappointed - Starfield looks like it could benefit greatly from ray traced (local) shadows.

You might also want to consider Intel. Depending on your location, it might be a cheaper option.

AMD socketed CPUs (Desktop and Server Zen) use chiplets with a IO Die. This IO Die has high, static power draw, increasing idle power usage. My 7950X3D uses a minimum of 34W for example, and that's with undervolting VSOC to 1.1V (from 1.24V board auto-prediction).
The AM4 platform has monolithic APUs available that avoids this problem entirely. (AM5 has similar APUs in the pipeline, but AFAIK they're not released yet.)
Also, AM5 boards with 6x SATA are really expensive ATM.
IMO, go Intel or AM4. AM5 is too immature for your usecase.

The zoning "suitability" indicator seems like a cool new feature. I guess it's intended to discourage building, for example, residential buildings near highways & arterial roads, or locations with high noise pollution etc.
CS2 is shaping up to be almost everything I wanted from a sequel, except mixed-use zoning. Did they talk about mixed-use zoning at all?

I think what kept me going after, maybe the fifth playthrough, was that the shortcomings of Skyrim that really bothered me would be solved by a new mod coming out.
To give just one example, the fact that no one in Skyrim recognized your accomplishments (good or evil) when you're probably the most powerful entity alive on the province really bothered me. But then the mod "Skyrim Reputation" came out.
Right now, I'm quite excited for the ever-around-the-corner Apotheosis mod.

It doesn’t do anything perfectly, but it’s good enough at such a wide range of elements that you can play and play and play and not get bored. I’ve probably finished Skyrim 40+ times and it’s still just as fun.

Yudhayvavhay Good. They make Apple look like an asshole but don't mention how a lot of people just don't want to give them data. This will mean multi-touch attribution, even over a shorter horizon, will not be possible.

I also enjoyed the multiverse reveal and the entity inside the Unity. I love it when meta mechanics like NG+ have an in-universe explanation.
Though, I felt like shit leaving my romance interest behind.
