I get a 404 for your first link: it's missing the "l" in "html". Correct link for those who couldn't find it: NIST 800-63B.

I prefer ebooks for fiction and paper for studying. If I need to remember something I like to have a tactile feedback. If I'm reading for fun I want to be able to easily read while I poo.

Sorry to be off topic, but as far as I can tell there isn't a way to PM people yet. Just wondering if your name is from Shallan Davar of Brandon Sanderson's Stomlight Archive series?

I was pretty interested in cryptography and physics when I was in high school, back in the glory days of Applied Cryptography and A Brief History of Time. So "dice" is sort of a reference both to RNGs and Einstein's famously incorrect statement about God and the nature of the universe.

Another vote for FOSS. I try to get all of my software from F-droid: I'm going to try a LineageOS for MicroG ROM when I have a spare day to mess around with my phone...

Brandon Sanderson did a great job in finishing the series off. Sanderson is great on his own, too, if you haven't read his other work. I'd recommend starting with Mistborn.

I recently finished Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. It's a Sci-Fi book about slower-than-light interstellar travel, the collapse of human civilization, and first contact with non-human intelligent life.

Much of the story is told from the perspective of said non-human intelligences, and I thought that perspective was very well done by the author.

I'm also about to finish Empire in Black and Gold which is the first of a Fantasy Epic by the same author, but I haven't liked it nearly as much. I'll give the 2nd book in the series a shot before making up my mind though.
