I use public transport for work and leisure exclusively, however that's easy in London. I may begin cycling to my new job.
I have a green energy supplier - to the extent of 100% renewable electricity anyway - but, like yourself, I don't know how I could verify this. At least the price is competitive.
I'm pescetarian, however I suspect I'll get closer and closer to vegan as time goes on. Having said that, if someone invites me to a BBQ I'm just going to eat meat, in those limited scenarios there's nothing to be gained. I never order meat in any capacity which I think is the primary point. I am absurdly excited for "fake meat" as I was a big meat-eater in my youth.
For holidays me and my partner fly across Europe a few times a year. I wonder what's more environmentally friendly; two tickets on a flight, or an environmentally-friendly (but practical for long-range driving) car that we only use for this traveling?

That said, having some social interaction is important. Going a long time without any can fuck with you.

As a result, I either pay a fortune and suffer great inconvenience by subscribing to all of the various competing streaming services or I don't get to listen to what I want to when I want to. Both of these are unacceptable compromises to me.
I much prefer to maintain my own library of music using Beets (bonus points for lossless for archival purposes), and just use Spotify for discovering new stuff and easily playing stuff through my smart speakers.

My point is that dismissing this manner of discussion for reasons that others will invariably disagree with should we actually discuss this topic is wrong in a very ironic way.
The merits of piracy or the lack thereof is not the point of my comment.

I personally don't need much more than text editing, so I just create a
notes/
directory and organise it all into subdirectories in there. I can name the files appropriately, and sort them based upon date created or date modified (that's baked into every OS).If it's a larger note that needs some faux-formatting, I change the extension to
.md
and use Markdown. If I want to encrypt a note, I just use gpg.
You can have this directory backed up by whatever backup approach you're already using (...you should have one anyway!).
This, to me, is the most flexible approach. It's similar to how I've come to prefer
pass
to password managers; in essence, it's the exact same approach with a small CLI app atop that utilises gpg underneath for encryption. -

I decided to for once intentionally play as an immoral character, rather than default back to the norm which is role-playing my more moral self. It's fun to be wandering around a town, hear someone say something negative towards me (I'm a dark elf, so it happens semi-frequently), and begin plotting my assassination of said someone.
I also bought Basic Origin Access the other day so I have a few games to play around with; Battlefield 1 is something I've wanted to play for a while and was the main reason for me signing up, along with 10-hour trials of the next FIFA and Battlefield games (I suspect I'll get bored of each within those trial periods). I've tried NFS: Payback a bit but the story and acting is so cringe-worthy I'm contemplating uninstalling. Then there are ABZU and Inside which were on my list for a while.
Oh, and Rocket League. I reached Champion III for the first time recently! :-)

Comment on How do you discuss open minded topics with close minded people? in ~talk

I think whether it's one side taking away the other's guns or everyone's is still an important distinction in terms of intent. It should inform whether the other side considers it a mere bad idea or rather a more severe attack on their freedoms. In this case, I think it should be considered the former for the reason specified.
Being widespread and accepted does not excuse the abhorrent.
Sure, but if you disagree with such a deeply societally embedded concept - to the point that even taxation would be considered wrong, and unjustifiable as a necessary evil - then I think you need to argue that case. If your worldview is so radically different then we could never possibly reach consensus on something further down the logic tree like firearm controls.
Basement's new album, Beside Myself.
They're quickly becoming one of my favourite bands.
