I did this with r/hiphopheads the day it was an option. Everytime a post hit All before we'd get a flood of trolls. They also made us a default sub in the Reddit mobile app for months if a user said they "like" music when signing up, which brought in a ton more of these. Opted out the minute we realized why it was happening.

Brave has made a lot of improvements and I'm supporting them. Not sure about their tokenomics and future of that, but the browser takes a lot less memory than Chrome for me. I use Firefox if Brave gives me issues with any website, but that's rare nowadays. Made about $40 through Brave Ads program so far.

I started doing a calisthenics program on Monday, going to stop going to the real gym because of coronavirus for now. It's really nice so far and can do most the exercises at home. They have a 4 day a week and 6 day a week program, I'm going with the 6 day a week. Hopefully see some good results from it in a few months.

There are still websites like https://local.bitcoin.com where you can meet someone face-to-face so you don't have to give your ID to get started. Also bitcoin meetups (via meetup.com) are good events to meet people who will sell you some crypto.

I recommend downloading the wallet "imtoken" in the app store and checking out some of the apps in their browser. You need ETH or DAI (DAI is a stablecoin built on ETH tied to $1 USD) to interact with most of them.

Also, pooltogether is giving away 1 ticket (worth 1 DAI ($1 USD)) to people who text this # (1 ticket to their weekly drawing) - https://twitter.com/PoolTogether_/status/1233103891849498628 - if you have the ability to text you can get started this way :)

I will have to look into that. Will be interesting to see what happens when Ethereum transitions away from PoW to PoS in ETH 2.0

Yeah I have a wallet with over 1 BTC from 2013 that I don't remember the password to (I had an eCommerce site that integrated BTC at checkout and only made one handwritten note with the password, which my partner misplaced) -- I've tried guessing the password about 100 times with no luck.

Have you looked into Decentralized Finance? DefiPulse - it's the new hype around crypto. Basically can take loans out, earn interest and more, without having to sign anything. Check this article for an example: don't watch the video, it's unrelated

Was just wondering if anyone in the Tildes community follows cryptocurrency at all. I'd say it's one of my biggest hobbies. Bitcoin is of course the king, but I like what Ethereum and some smaller protocols are working on as well. I see a lot of potential on the horizon.

For example, I think Pool Together is a great idea (no-loss lottery).

I also learned about this game from a friend called Axie Infinity which looks pretty fun.

I don't mean this to be a thread to shill your bags or talk about going to the moon, but more of a crypto-focused discussion on what you're following, interested in, sharing cool dapps, etc. Just seeing if there's any interest in a regular crypto discussion thread here. (Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.)

Thanks for the info. I was never a good swimmer although I had lessons when I was young and would do it weekly. I developed a weird allergic reaction to chlorine and get these red semi-itchy splotches all over my chest so that's the main reason I try to avoid it. Doctor said it's normal when I told him about it. Seems to flare up if I'm in a pool for more than 10-15 minutes unfortunately. Gets really bad if I go warm to cold water or vice versa (like jacuzzi to regular pool).

My condo has a nice pool on the roof that I've never used, so may be worth a shot again and see what happens. Probably been 10+ years since I last went in a pool for more than 20 minutes. I have a fast metabolism still, so it's hard for me to keep weight on. Got sick a month ago and was in bed for 2 weeks and lost 15-20 pounds so I'm working on gaining it back, up 10 pounds again so far (water weight I'm guessing).

Also noted on the yoga thing, a friend with back pain previously said yoga helped him a ton which is why I was considering.

Mostly my right shoulderblade area. Think I deadlifted with bad form a couple years ago, so I do lighter weights now for everything to be safe. What are examples of core strengthening exercises?

I go to the gym 3-4 times a week. Mostly weightlifting, trying to gain some weight.

Been considering switching to calisthenics as I'm getting older and think it'd be easier on my body. Starting to have really bad back pain. Anyone have experience with this? I like doing bodyweight exercises like leg raises, pull ups, dips, etc. at the end of my workouts already, but that's about all I do.

Also would like to do yoga regularly, went to my first (and only) class last year and really enjoyed it. Been doing this 15 min yoga / 15 min meditation video on youtube which is really nice, but would like more professional training/setting.

I saw Your Name twice and liked it, waiting to see Weathering With You which just released in theaters the past week near me. Hoping it's not a dub, but not getting my hopes up.
