People become so accustomed to flavorless garbage we hit the 'ow my balls' phase of Idiocracy
We enter a post-internet age, because people wake up to how bad it all has become. IE: Let's not go to The Internet, tis a silly place.
I hope the latter happens, as a post-internet age might bring back some of the fun.
If I can rephrase this to “things I’d like to keep from the internet:” Ability to meet and talk with people from all over the world at different times of the day, in real time. Watching things or...
If I can rephrase this to “things I’d like to keep from the internet:”
Ability to meet and talk with people from all over the world at different times of the day, in real time.
Watching things or playing things with people I cannot be physically with.
Look up anything quickly (I could possibly kill this if I just had good reference material databases that were updated semi-regularly).
Ability to learn things for free.
Memes/jokes.
Music discovery.
Maps and directions.
Ability to compare prices and review products to make an informed decision (this has gone completely to shit though).
Access to a large media library (has also gone to shit via subscription services).

I am already 70% of the way to path 2 except for some very specific YouTube channels and Tildes. But also I dunno if you all are just a simulation. Same for supposed real life, so don't take it...

Ah, but if we weren’t smart enough to think of the same possibilities you are, surely you wouldn’t be in a particularly good simulation! Isn’t it nice to get a reminder you’re in the premium package?

What valuable things built atop the internet would remain in a post-internet age?

Nothing raises my hackles like when agents of my simulation insist I’m an agent in their simulation.

Wait I paid more for the existential dread package? I should've stuck with base Solipsism+.
Oof, well said.
