I find situations like this fascinating. Exposing others seems to open yourself up to others exposing your past foibles and mistakes (see Asia Argento). I don't think it invalidates the work others within Reply All and Gimlet did to document what happened at Bon Appetit though.

The funny thing about this is that in the most recent episode of their coverage of Bon Appetit (The Test Kitchen, Chapter 2), there's a conversation with Christina Chaey where she discusses how even though she is a BIPOC person, she found that she had convinced herself that she was part of the "in" crowd at BA and then somehow found herself on the other side of the table from other BIPOC people.
And here, we find that these two were doing this with Reply All the entire time (literally in PJ's case), even while they were recording this perspective from Christina.

Enter another mini pet peeve. The email response stating I've been unsubscribed. Just like I don't need a receipt for a donut, I don't need further communication from a party that I've expressed a desire to never hear from again to confirm that I'll never hear from them again.
To be fair, a we should shame people who reply all to emails unnecessarily. As someone who frequently has to send emails to 1000s of people in an organization, I get so mad when I get an email...

As someone who frequently has to send emails to 1000s of people in an organization, I get so mad when I get an email where it's just mass CC'ing people instead of BCC'ing. It is inevitably followed by a dozen responses from people replying all.
