I'm excited. I just hope they fix the writing problems that plagued Fallout 4. Fix the dialogue options, writing, and linear plot and we've got a deal.

This old message is almost certainly a truthful leak as there is absolutely zero chance that someone would have guessed "Fallout 76" without rudimentary knowledge. Either by being an employee or friends of an employee that talks about their work.
I hope it's more like Rust and less like a Battle Royale. Rust done by a AAA company would be so good, especially if they improved upon Fallout 4's building system.

Yes, I hope so too! But wouldn't it be unlikely that they've already developed a new engine AND a game for that engine? That would take more time, wouldn't it?

Am I missing some revealing details? Because all I see is an empty vault. The only interesting bit comes from some logs you actually find in Fallout 3.

There's a few other mentions of Vault 76 in other games as well. What we know is that V76 was a "control" vault, meaning no crazy experiments supposed to be going on in it. It was supposed to open in 2097, 20 years after closing, but according to the pipboy in the teaser it's later than that, 2102, so why didn't the vault open on time, does it have something to do with the alien encounter? Also the date on the pipboy is the same year Richard Grey, aka the Master, discovers the military base, the FEV and he starts creating super mutants shortly after. But that's way over in California and V76 is in the DC area/West Virginia so will it be part of the main story or even at all. In theory, most ghouls at this time should not be feral yet, but will have existed for around a century.
I'm excited for it since I love Fallout, but I sill wish that we would have an announcement about Elder Scrolls, even though I know it's a while away.
Yeah the Bethesda announcement that will get me really hyped will be Elder Scrolls 6

Rumors say it's multiplayer-focused, a Rust/Battle Royale type game. Don't bet on it having much dialogue...
I really hope not, I feel kinda saturated by battle royale type games; I’d much rather another solid single player like Doom or Fallout 4.
I agree with this. I'm so bad at video games I usually don't enjoy multiplayer because I just get slaughtered. I enjoy long form single player games.

Ouch! really?
Please let us just have our singleplayer focused fallout!
they need a new engine.
What was wrong with the Fallout 4 engine? I don't remember any glaring issues from my playthrough
physics tied to 60fps, same engine as Skyrim, which was easy to cheese and exploit like putting trash cans on NPC heads to be invisible

Definitely interested, got some chills watching the first few seconds (similar to Fallout 3). I can't wait to see what it entails.
It's an online survival RPG, whatever that means.
Has this been confirmed, I have only seen it reported as rumours from anonymous sources.
no official line yet but it's coming from a guy with a solid track record of calling these kinds of things.
Unfortunate if true. I would have loved a simple co-op campaign.

I'm excited about the online aspect. Also, this is how you make a trailer, Battlefield.
I’m curious...is the “76” anyway related to Overwatch’s Soldier 76?
No, Vault 76 was referenced before OW existed https://fallout.gamepedia.com/Vault_76
