Unsure on what to play next, care to help?

So right now I'm about to finish persona 5 strikers and I'm not sure on what to play next. This are the possible games (nintendo switch):

  • The legend of Zelda: tears of the kingdom
  • Cassette beasts
  • Cult of the lamb
  • Shin megami tensei V

Would you like to help me choose? Please

You're going to get a lot of recommendations for TotK, and that's understandable. That said, they're all good choices. Pick the cute murder simulator. That narrows it down, right?

I mean, almost any list with a Zelda game on it, I'm gonna say Zelda.

Tears of the kingdom is fantastic. I put about eighty hours into it without realizing it.

Right?! I’m at ‘played for more than 65 hours’ according to my Nintendo profile, and not only is that pretty hard to believe, but I genuinely feel like I’ve only scratched the surface. The thing is I enjoy a good open world game, but typically I find my investment and enthusiasm tends to plummet around the 30 hour mark, at which point I usually beeline for the end to see the story through before all motivation is lost. And yet with TotK, I’m still excited to play whenever I get the chance. Just being in the world they’ve created is so enthralling and crucially for me at least, the core gameplay is both simple enough to minimise friction, but with such depth so as to keep things interesting. For the record, I can’t remember the last time I was so gushing about a game - TotK is the real deal.

Tears of the Kingdom is absolutely fantastic. I would say the only possible reason to stay away from it for now would be if you don't want to play another big game since P5S was itself pretty long. For the record I've played TotK maybe 50 hours and I feel like I'm going to be playing it until 2024 with how much there is to do.

I highly recommend cult of the lamb on sale. It's a fun and cute little roguelike with some neat systems, but it isn't very deep compared to something like Hades. Building up a town is fun, but...

If you want more of that I can't recommend TOTK enough. However if you played BOTW recently I'd hold off, TOTK is an even bigger game and it can quickly become ovewhelming if you're not fully into it.

As is Cassette Beasts. I definitely recommend this one, it's amazing. It's pokemon-like with a lot of great tweaks, and they're releasing new content as well which will give it more legs over time. For me this is sort of a back-burner game after my current TOTK and broader Legend of Zelda binge is burned out for the day/week.

Cult of the Lamb is a shorter experience from anything I can tell, but from what I've seen and played it's a great game.

Unfortunately, I've never touched Shin Megami Tensei.

What I would recommend is choose a bigger game of TOTK and Cassette Beasts and prepare to commit to it for a bit if you get sucked in, then rotate other games in.

I'll go against the collective and say SMTV. If you haven't played any Megaten games other than Persona, SMT games are generally harder than Persona games. There's a good amount more party building as you get to choose the demons for the rest of your party from a much wider variety and you have more control over their skills. There's a lot less story, characters, and dialogue but what's there is interesting. Additionally, I always find it fascinating to realize how the demons from SMT and persona are related. In fact, look up who owns the Velvet Room when you have a chance. I've been told this is extremely obvious if you play the first two Persona games, but I haven't done so.
