Does anyone have experience with any of the games and, if so, would you recommend them? Is there anything in here that you're particularly excited to play?
Thank you for making these posts. One of the things I miss from reddit.
That being said, very nice month again. Happy to see Disco Elysium in there even though I own it, it's going yo my wife. But also sad to see it given the backstory there. (see for example https://gamerant.com/disco-elysium-developers-speak-out-studio-za-um-owners/)
Holy shit. I never even knew about that, thanks for the information
It's pretty wild right. In a way it's almost poetry that the struggle of capitalism vs art destroyed the game's future, it could have been a storyline straight from that game.
Disco Elysium is a masterpiece
Chiv 2 is pretty popular, me and my friends enjoy it.
Road 96 is good, kinda on the nose political if you're into that.
Such art is a fun artist 'simulator'
Can't speak for the rest
Arcade paradise is interesting. I do applaud the dev for not filling it with microtransactions, but the gameplay loop sometimes feels like games built with them in mind - right down to expensive in-game currencies separate from other in-game currencies for buying upgrades to increase the amount of time spent playing the arcade games versus doing time-sink chores.
I bought Arcade Paradise a while back and in retrospect I don't know what it was that excited me about it. The money aspect ended up making it a chore for me because I realized that it was more profitable for me to be doing laundry quickly and getting the speed bonus, which meant that the games basically existed as distractions and playing the game became a grim reminder of the realities of life.
I don't know that I would consider Road 96 good. I really enjoy those kind of games generally but Road 96 is like taking a brick to the face. The exact opposite of subtle. And the writing in general is pretty clumsy.
I thought it was fun. But like I said. Very on the nose
Kind of bad to pair it with Disco Elysium too, consulting how good that game is in terms of commentary, even 'good' comes up short next to it.
Disco Elysium is such an incredible game. It has really stuck with me despite not being my kind of genre typically.
I just want more stories in the world of Disco Elysium! I don't even care if it's more games. Someone write some books! Short stories! Make live action fan fics! Just give me more of that peculiar world!
This is one of those rare months where I have heard good things about - and have interest in - multiple games in the bundle yet somehow own none of them. An instant buy!
A tad disappointed that suchArt isn't VR. Would have been just perfect.
I swear I remember it being vr. Maybe it's a separate game
Maybe a dream? :(
Haven’t had the chance to play Disco Elysium and have wanted to for awhile, so this is perfect for me!
