Obviously, neopets is used by a diverse age range of people, but this brought to my mind the question of if there are still websites with games and communities specifically made for kids? I am an adult without children of my own, so I may just be ignorant, but I have not heard of any new ones. Poptropica is barely still around and I know coolmath4kids/coolmathgames is still here. Is there anything else, or even anything new? Talking to kids now, they just watch youtube (maybe youtube kids, if their parents care enough). Do kids even want these websites or is everything app-based now? I suppose I'm just getting older and know less about children's computer habits.
To my knowledge, kids who play games these days are into Minecraft (yes, still), Fortnite, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Roblox. I don't think web browser based games and/or communities like...

Kids who play games are also into the stuff you mentioned - Fortnite is huge in part bc it's free to play, same with Roblox. When many of us played browser based games back in the day it was specifically bc they were free. RuneScape is the one coming to mind for me, as it was THE F2P game when they mostly didn't exist yet.
Cool math is long dead sadly. It is still online yes but sadly it has become infested with NSFW/NSFL ads and other disgusting things. Also pretty sure a staff member got caught as a pedo recently....

that was only for a few years way back when. It was more recently owned by jumpstart but now has a total shift over to a new team. Full announcement here....

Roblox is full of preds who prey on those kids so please don't let them use roblox without supervision.

As I understand it a lot of users have moved to Leopets, yeah?

It was the golden meerca or something right? I had one of those. It was a badge of honor!
But is it still owned and operated by the Scientologists?

That's the first I've heard of this...
This was indeed a thing briefly back during its heyday, but hasn't been the case for many years now.
