Grim Dawn took the concept of secret areas to 11 though, and it's quite a bummer that these devs are working on TQ2.
I think it'll be alright, it won't be amazing but it'll be good. Grimlore Games did a really good job on Spellforce 3 Reforced, so I wouldn't mind giving them at least a chance.

Oh, that's good to know; I was wondering. I've also had it in my backlog for a long time, but Steam shows it as "Unsupported". I wasn't sure whether this was another case where that means "shrug"...

That's an announcement trailer, it just tells "this game exists". Pretty standard nowadays to not show gameplay in these kind of videos, probably because it's still far from release.

I don't see why they'd do an announcement trailer. That's typically something done for a franchise that people won't stop asking about. Titan Quest, while enjoyed by fans, was not that big of a game and it has been quite a few years now. I just don't see what they gain but empty hype which will quickly die off, but for the cost of people now bugging the team for actual updates.
Well it's a specific type of trailer. It's an announcement trailer specifically, which is what it does. I get what you're saying though and sometimes it's difficult to see why I should be happy...

I get what you're saying though and sometimes it's difficult to see why I should be happy with the announcement, but a sequel like this should get people in the know hyped enough.
And you see that here too, couple of folk that played it back in the day are happy with this announcement.
It relies on some experience with the previous game to know what's being portrayed. The soldiers being attacked are Spartans, meaning the general could be Leonidas, who featured briefly in the 1st...

The trailer's pretty similar to the ones for the 1st game and its expansions, which were also CG.
Reviving TQ is a nice thought but a lot of the people that made the first one so special formed Crate Entertainment. People seem to have some fairly positive opinions of Spellforce 3, but I would...

People seem to have some fairly positive opinions of Spellforce 3, but I would be very surprised if TQ2 keeps the spirit and a lot of the unique mechanics like dual classing of the original.
Why? It means you'll likely get something unique instead of being quite similar to TQ1. We get to see a take on the formula by a new studio. If it doesn't work, then it's a shame, but eh.

I consider both of Crate's ARPG's best in class, especially their more recent Grim Dawn. As soon as I saw the announcement I was hoping for their latest and greatest. If it isn't from them, I'm honestly barely interested at all and definitely won't be getting the game on release. That sort of excitement and loyalty is hard earned and THQ Nordic simply hasn't done that.
I played a ton of Titan Quest back in the day, but never beat it as far as I can recall. Would definitely be interested in picking up this one for sure!

The trailer didn't show much, but I used to love the 1st game, so I'll be waiting for reviews of this one - learned a while ago to not preorder anything ever.

Not made by Crate and the devs only ever worked on Spellforce 3, a very mediocre RTS, not to mention every piece of content made for Titan Quest after Iron Lore went under was underwhelming to say...

Yeah, that's a hard pass for me at least for now. Call me back when Crate finally decides to make Grim Dawn 2.

Have had the original in my Steam backlog for a longtime now. Perhaps this will be motivation to get it played!
The game has aged quite a bit but I absolutely recommend playing it. One of the top ARPGs in my opinion, if not the top one.
Works great on the steamdeck, btw

Maybe pipe it down a bit?
I understand passionate tones for some topics, but certainly not for an announcement trailer of a videogame.

Crate is the one who made Grim Dawn. Arguably TQs spiritual successor which I also love (backed it on KS as well)
Oh wait, this isn't by Crate? My interest just dropped to near zero :(
