And then once this sale starts, check prices on reputable 3rd party sites like Fanatical as they will almost always offer a lower price than the sale price on Steam.

Both of these games are pretty incredible, for very different reasons! Would recommend both.

Celeste is on sale on Steam, 75% off for $6.49CAD.

I have had it for free from Epic Games, but that has led to complications with getting mods to work on my Steam Deck, so I'm going to buy it now. I guess also has the minor benefits of getting achievements and being able to track hours played from now on.

If you like 2D platformers and haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it. There are lots of great mechanics for movement, and in the later parts of the game they combine them all. There's a lot of post-game challenges, and even though at first I thought they were just too ridiculous, I got addicted to the gameplay and kept coming back and kept grinding away at them til I succeeded.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the modding community has come up with!

Spike Chunsoft is having a publisher sale on Steam right now and it has some pretty hefty discounts that go as steep as 80%! They've published some of the best visual novels you can get in the English language including the Science Adventure series from Mages (Steins;Gate, Chaos;Head, etc.), the Danganronpa series, and the Zero Escape series. They also have my eternal recommendation, Yu-No: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World which is worth playing even if only for the soundtrack. If you think you might be interested in a high quality visual novel but never wanted to invest money into them, this is the perfect opportunity to try one out.

I've heard Steins;Gate is better as a visual novel (I think by you actually!), is it worth it vs watching the anime?

If you have already seen the anime and absolutely loved it, you might not get much out of the VN. If you have seen the anime and just thought it was OK or didn't like it, you should give the VN a try because you'll probably enjoy the story better that way. If you haven't seen it you should absolutely read the VN instead to get the full effect of the story.

So far I've only played through the first two games in the series; the first is Chaos;Head. I would also recommend that one with a giant disclaimer because it's a horror game and it's got some bad gore and a number of other really negative things. I replayed it recently and I'll also add that I don't think it's worth replaying for the alternative routes, even for the "true" ending. I was going to play the direct sequel to it, Chaos;Child because it came as a two-pack, but I decided to give it a break after it opened with a person eating, uh, "cheese", and I thought I should take a break for my mental health.

I recently played through the campaign and the DLC missions doing co-op with a friend on the highest difficulty. While we didn't bother trying to find the collectable notes we were quite thorough in completing all the main and optional objectives, all in all it took us about 35 hours to do everything in a relatively stealthy fashion.

The last Sniper Elite game I played was V2 and in comparison I really enjoyed 4's open style maps that allow for much more variety in how you approached the objectives vs V2's quite linear missions. For what it's worth, the person that I played the game with has played all the Sniper Elite games extensively and said that 4 is by far his favourite.

For $5 I would highly recommend it.
