Ive never taken time off for a game before, but I plan on taking a week of PTO for this one.

Wow this looks SUPER cool I feel like the initial base earth game is going to be the longest “intro” ever. Unless you start in space?

They've rebalanced the tech tree and progression for the expansion, so "launching a rocket" occurs much, much earlier in the game (and is much easier to do).

I believe they said they expect the overall expansion game length to be roughly the same as the base game.

Despite Earendel's best attempts to make it Space Exploration, Official Version. I am glad the rest of the team was around to reign in his base impulses. SpaceEx is best left as a crazy insane mod!

The one thing i've always wanted to see out of factorio, or a game like it, is..well basically the World Devastator from star wars.

Essentially some sort of mobile production line that you point in a direction and it strips the are of materials as it moves, putting down belts, rails, factories, and drones as it takes in inputs.

Obviously there's some limitation between "it just does everything for you" and "this is another interesting tool in the neverending line of automation", but I feel like it'd be neat to see something tackle that level of expansion.

I think if you look up some of the things done with the 'Recursive Blueprints' mod in Factorio you'll be pleasantly surprised.

In the expansion, the spaceship seems to sort of do what you want - you use asteroids to produce fuel + ammo, so it's technically infinite-able, probably.

It could possibly be implemented as a factorissimo factory on wheels. That way you still have to build the factory yourself. But it still sounds like something for a mod to do, not the base game.
