I saw this a couple of times and really wanted to play it, but never gotten around to it yet! I know it's been on Epic for a year now, has anyone actually played it yet?

Okay, so it's the same developers as The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, some of whom worked on Bulletstorm before that, if anyone remembers that game. This looks interesting. IGN compared it favorably...
This looks interesting. IGN compared it favorably to DOOM. Some people seem to think it's a Souls-like (okay, sure), and the Steam tags are all over the place. The aesthetic looks good though, and the few bits of gameplay I watched looked fun. I'll probably pick this up on sale.
(Also, I changed the link from their Twitter post to the game's Steam page their announcement on Steam. Here's the original link for anyone who still has a profile and can see it: https://x.com/TheAstroCrew/status/1833203779719540867)
Thanks for that, though maybe a direct post to the blog post might be better? https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3156770/view/4590944913276971788?l=english

This is a game I have been eagerly awaiting for years. Once it was out on the Epic store as an early access game I bought it. I like the gameplay and graphics. However, it's been well over a year since it released on Epic and I feel like they've barely made any progress on the game. There have been minor gameplay tweaks and new enemies. The starting set of 2 maps has not been improved upon. I would have expected more fleshing out.

He is someone who I find very good to give first impressions for games since he is capable of expressing the perfect kind of commentary/critique of gameplay. Which i find the most important to know if I want to play a game or not, and not having most story/plot revealed to still have a fresh experience when playing.
oooh wait this is a great primer for it, thanks for the link! it does look really interesting actually I might actually pick it up with that video, thank you for that!

Wait, it came out on EGS in early access... And is still early access by the time it came to Steam? Don't get me wrong, it seems like a neat game but are they gonna rebrand EGS as 'Extra' Early...

Ah, didn't realize had some crossover with Bulletstorm. I recently played that for the first time and liked a lot of the ideas they incorporated

I'm getting Painkiller vibes as far as the theme goes. If you like dark shooters, PK is great and on sale for $2 currently.
oooh nice! Be sure to post in the Save Points thread this week if you'd like about that!
