The shaved hair on the razor!
That sick ass keyboard with its built-in trackball mouse. That's actually a pretty popular thing in the ergo-mech keyboard niche.
And here I was, thinking Witcher 4 was the most surprising thing today, or the thing I was looking forward to the most...

I just desperately hope the narrative and writing quality are good. I got slight Marvel-ish vibes from the dialogue between Jordan and her agent, which is mildly concerning.

The player character seems like a Nathan Drake -type which probably isn't the full depth of the character, they'll get fleshed out. Still it's below expectations when it comes to Naughty Dog.
Though maybe we should consider that this was probably the stage which draws the most eyeballs possible so it's not surprising they market it here the safest way.

I'm not good enough at analyzing dialogue to really recognize specific patterns. When you say Marvel-ish vibes, what do you mean? I assume it has something to do with how the protagonist is chipper and snarky with their (seemingly) more seasoned agent, but I also feel like that was the norm pre-Marvel (think Kim Possible and Wade, for example).
I tend to associate "Marvel-ish" dialogue with not just being snarky or sarcastic, but obnoxiously self-aware--dialogue that sort of "knows" it's in a media property and winks while saying it....

I have a weakness for pretty much anything Porsche is willing to put their name on. Especially in this 80's retrofuturism aesthetic. It's a guilty pleasure.
It’s all just marketing that has worked on me. But to avoid being too reductive: I really like the retro-futuristic aesthetic. In particular I like the physicality and tactile nature of design...
It’s all just marketing that has worked on me. But to avoid being too reductive: I really like the retro-futuristic aesthetic. In particular I like the physicality and tactile nature of design that is part of the aesthetic.
I see the style most readily in the products of European car manufacturers in the that time. Lamborghini Countach, Ferrari Testarossa, Lancia 037, Porsche 930, and Porsche 944, BMW M1 are all exemplars of the aesthetic to me.
And Porsche is the company to continue supporting their vehicles of the era and putting them in media:
Porsche 930 in Cyberpunk 2077
Porsche 964 in Transformers (hated the movie though)
this example of using the brand to communicate the vibe.
And then there’s the fact that this just feels pitched directly at me. I have a vintage Porsche that I enjoy driving around in listening to cassettes of music from the era so I feel like I know how that spaceship feels.
This game’s marketing is also directly targeted at me, I’m a huge fan of 80’s and 90’s retro futurism. Porsche is fucking rad, I really want a 987.2 cayman…well, if we’re talking want, I want a...

Porsche is fucking rad, I really want a 987.2 cayman…well, if we’re talking want, I want a GT3 RS (I got to drive one on a track and it was magical), but no way can I afford one lol. What Porsche do you have that you mentioned? I do the same thing with my 94 Miata, I have a bunch of city pop cassettes from the 80’s and 90’s in it.
I want a 987.2 as well, I have a 981 but got rid of it because of changing priorities. But I think a 987.2 would be the right fit for me. I also got to drive a GT3 RS on a track and it was rad....

What I have now is a 944 S2 with a salvaged title. It's in rough shape but drives and runs excellent.
The 981 and 944 are also so very rad. I'm not the biggest fan of the 944 by itself with no context, but I love that there's a relatively cheap and attainable Porsche out there that gives you a...

Man, I still really want a cayman, I've been thinking about them for years now. I'm kind of getting to the stage where I think I might sell the miata for one, since that would pay for at least 1/3 of the price depending on which model/condition I go for. I will always love miatas, but at some point, I need to drive some other sports cars.

The snarky wink-wink Marvel-esque dialogue reminded me of a book I severely disliked for the same reason, The Punch Escrow. The nauseating amount of product placement in such a short trailer was a bit much, and the overused 80's retrofuturism thing with the CRT TV's, 80's anime, CD player and 80's New Wave soundtrack had my eyes rolling.

I feel like a lot of the "corpo space dystopia-ish" cyberpunk style genre is just a natural extension of our society's progression, to be fair!
This one got me. This was a great reveal at the game awards. It's definitely on my list!

I personally am a fan of scifi in general but I'm curious, why Porche specifically?

Haha that's totally fair and what you enjoy is totally valid!!! Appreciate you putting your words down, I hope we both enjoy this game then!

This felt awesome to watch, gave me Ready Player One vibes.
