I did watch the whole thing. While I can't say I disagree with the winner, it is interesting to me from the perspective that it was clearly a highly inspirational implementation. This makes me wonder a bit if the video author believes it to truly be the best when stacked up against the works it inspired, or if it got some bonus points for the groundwork it laid.
Either way, fun video. My favorite section was regarding games that go for realism and the challenges that realism presents to a player wanting a near-instant large change in momentum.
I actually watched it all (in parts, mostly in the background) but in this list: SPOILERS It's not Bayonetta, it's Nier Automata. Other S-tier dodge animations include Bayonetta 2 and 3, FFXVI,...

It's not Bayonetta, it's Nier Automata. Other S-tier dodge animations include Bayonetta 2 and 3, FFXVI, Spider Man 2, Enter the Gungeon, Zenless Zone Zero, Monster Hunter:World and Have A Nice Death. Not sure why the TL;DR is Bayonetta when you can just click at the end and see the entire list.

I saw another comment say it was nier automata lol. I don't have time to watch the video so I'll choose to believe it's one of those. Either way, I've played them both and they're both incredible.

Better tldw: A good dodge animation should both have function (avoid enemy stuff, be responsive) and form (look good but also be coherent with the character and/or the feel and lore of the game)....

There's also some left field entries in the list that's interesting to watch (Mario and Luigi, Fire Emblem).

Winner
Nier Automata
I like games with dodging, but it's an hour and a half long.
TL;DR (but a totally incorrect one based on the LLM summary YouTube provided)
Bayonetta

Shit I used the summarize function and it only told me that game 😂
Lol fair enough. Good to know our AI overlords are still pretty dumb

Yeah I was wrong. It was another, similar (I think) game and the LLM summary lied to me.

The best dodge animation is in Morrowind. Who played this masterpiece knows.
