Let's just hope it can deliver something refreshing and also do it on Day 1

My wishlist for this game:
3rd person.
Improved vehicle physics (the speedometer is a lie!)
Smarter crime response. Right now, if a ruffian punches you in a dark alley, police apparate out of nowhere and start shooting you. Who called the cops? It wasn't the ruffian. It wasn't me. So how did they show up?
And this is the IMPROVED version of crime response. Anyone who played before the big patch that revamped it can tell you they literally just spawned right behind you. I hope they reuse Night City...

I hope they reuse Night City and just flesh it out more, especially verticality. So many buildings that we can't go in.
From the article. You can still hope for verticality at least.
the morsel on the sequel: that it features a brand new city in addition to the Night City we know from Cyberpunk 2077. Pondsmith described this new city as “like Chicago gone wrong.”

I liked Chicago immensely when I visited and I hope to return one day, but "... like Chicago gone wrong" implies that our Chicago is the one "gone right," which is a horrifying prospect.

It is particularly troublesome when the in-game lore notes that the new mayor privatised the police force and halved it as well, meaning they can't meaningfully provide protection outside of Corpo Plaza, the very centre of the city. They even tell a story character over the phone to put their best friend and possible partner's body on ice to preserve it because they're busy dealing with more immediate problems.
I'm fine letting them cook as long as they need, plenty can change, I'm gonna pretend I don't know anything about this until near release. But a sequel implies to me we are getting the next...

But a sequel implies to me we are getting the next installment in V's story, I don't want that, that would undermine the story. More Cyberpunk for sure, I want a sequel on the setting. Witcher 4 has me worried since Geralt and that plot was a closed book.

I've heard of prequels, but going from 2077 all the way down to 2 is just wild.
I'd pay money to play a GTA Flintstones games
If Cyberpunk 2077 was set in that same year, Cyberpunk 2 would be more like GTA: Baby Jesus Edition.
“Wake up shepherd, we got flocks to tend”

If Malort is any indication, it's both.
