And 5 years later, I still wish greatly that I could play this game. I have the hardware. I have the friends. I have the interest! I just have the unfortunate result of getting motion sick from it. It's one of the greatest tragedies of my gaming life that certain first person games make me motion sick. This is one of them. As best as I can tell, my brain gets frustrated when it gets a certain cocktail of environment and stress in first person. 3rd person? Usually not a problem. No amount of FOV or sway reduction fixes it.
Everything I've seen about this game from videos to streams tells me it us absolutely excellent in every way. Please give it a try and enjoy it, because I would if I could.
For me, it's usually motion blur and fast mouse/camera sensitivity. Motion blur off + reducing mouse/camera sensitivity a lot and working my way up usually helps.

Relatable. Oddly, I had this intensely with DOOM/DOOM II. I'd get diaphoretic and motion sickness and such an awful disgusting sort of headache. Somehow, this passed after maybe a year. Healthy...

Of course, now, I don't enjoy most FPSs. They've become so very fast-paced, with death after death, that I find them intensely frustrating.

Related to my interest in VR, I have had various treatments for motion sickness recommended to me - there are wristbands you can wear & medications you can take that are supposed to alleviate the problem. Does anyone have a motion sickness treatment they recommend for or against?

My own half-assed opinion is that more people are capable of it than they think, but then if the discomfort you have to feel to overcome it isn't worth the reward you get, it works out the same anyway.

I fixed my VR motion sickness by playing only until I would start feeling sick, then immediately stopping. At first, I could only play for 1-2m at a time, but it slowly got better. After two weeks, I had no motion sickness whatsoever. I would also eat fresh ginger before playing, but I’m not sure how much that helped.
I think the trick is stopping as soon as you feel sick, and not letting your brain get used to VR being an unpleasant experience.
is it playable if you're sitting ~10' away from the screen? idk how much that would interfere with using the HUD etc in this game but that has in the past let me play some first-person games that...

I haven't played in a while but it's nice to see GSG doing well and all the dwarf memes still going strong. Here's to many more years of mayhem on Hoxxes. Rock and stone to the bone!

This game would be great on the Deck but it unfortunately uses way too many watts for me to consider it a “Good deck game”

I loved DRG. I'm really looking forward to DRG: Rogue Core, a DRG roguelike that's currently in closed alpha testing.
