I love websites like this. Simple, fun, and imaginative. I wish there was a word for websites like this (which would include basically everything developed by https://neal.fun/)

I mean, my first attempt was rated Probably Not A Fish. My second was just an ΙΧΘΥΣ. I zoomed in to about 200% to get finer detail; otherwise it rated everything as wild swings

yeah, once I discovered that it would often rate straight-up HOLES in the fish's overall outline, shit got weird. that big clump dorsal fin started as an unconnected series of dashes and swirls...

I don't think it was, and I for one do appreciate the postmortem as much as bumping the original post (as I somehow missed this on both Tildes and HN). The postmortem is a nice behind the scenes...

This was fun until I drew a fish so bad it has to be reviewed to confirm its fish-ness.

Haha, I drew an angelfish that got sent for review. I'm no Davinci but dang, harsh!
Mine was an angelfish too....
I mean angelfish adjacent at least. I tried!
I drew a jellyfish and got the same message. Didn't realize we were working with such a narrow definition here, jeez!
You drew a fish...
... that was too fishy

And then the site got hacked!
The creator was really floundering.

I love neal.fun
Had to try to draw the most Probable fish. Got it up to 95.4%. This algorithm is very strange: https://imgur.com/kigEGUt

That is a very probable fish I suppose
Impressive, though that is an odd looking fish. I got to 75% and that felt good enough.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I found this postmortem interesting: https://aldenhallak.com/blog/posts/draw-a-fish-postmortem.html

That was interesting, thanks for sharing the update. I love the bit about IceWeasel on HN being a hacker for good!
I get his point that the LLM didn't make the bad decisions. But much like his comparison to guns... It sure helped.
This is great! I am imagining a whole class of kids drawing fish and putting them in one of the custom tanks in their classroom.
I love little playful websites like this.
Thanks for sharing it!
I managed to get to 81%. I'm quite proud of myself.
I get to 75% but then I see no fish swimming ever :(
Oh that sounds like maybe something on your browser is blocking the tank?
Here's a direct link to the tank
