A word of caution for anyone using this service: "Dead" multiplayer games may have massive security vulnerabilities. Like, for the old CoD games for example, if you so much as boot into the loading screen, a hacker can leak your IP address at best, or install spyware and crypto miners on your PC at worst. I've seen firsthand hackers join game sessions in Black Ops 3 on PC they weren't invited to or brick my account on World at War Xbox 360 to be soft locked and not able to connect to servers anymore. I heard that the Little Big Planets games had issues like this, so Sony shut the servers down, but devs don't always go through the trouble. These old games aren't getting security updates anymore, so playing them can be like using the Internet with an old unsupported OS. I recommend looking into modded clients for the PC versions of these old games that add additional security features.

I'm interested in the "anonymous" aspect of the site, since there's optional profiles. It seems like a good way to reduce friction and let people get into using the site more easily, but I worry about spam. Maybe the niche-ness of the site will prevent that from becoming an issue.
Looking for [a] game. It's people looking for groups to play games that don't regularly have open servers anymore. It's not PC specific. I've actually seen it used more often for TTRPGs

I've always known it to have the more literal meaning of Looking For Group since I first saw it used in MMORPGs in the early 2000s, but then I've never really played TTRPGs.

I hope a service like this sticks around for the time in the distant future when I'm wanting to play some 40 year old games after my kids are all off doing adult things.

The loading bars and many other elements look lifted straight from OG steam, haha. This site is so cool
Oh you just reminded me of it. I almost forgot.

For the PC-ignorant, like myself, what exactly is this site? What is LFG?

That may be more correct, honestly
I was only aware of it meaning Let's F*cking Go ...on Twitter
