The server operates on a soft whitelist. Anyone can log in and walk around, but you need a Tildes account to gain build access.
We recommend you install our mod web-chat so that you can chat while in your web browser. It turns the server into an old-school chat room.
I hopped on for a little bit this morning just to check in. My kids heard me playing MC and scrambled into the room and began begging me to let them play again, so I'm probably going to end up active on the server again with the kids in the next couple of days.
One of the bigger changes since you have last been on is we connected your rail line that you built from your town to the island into the transit network. So now the rail line extends to the transit hub in the basement of community storage
Yes I saw that. My kids thought someone had griefed it until I explained that I told everyone they could freely use the tunnel and it just added more stops is all :D
Got a lot going on IRL right now keeping me away, probably for quite a while unfortunately. My dad has been having issues with our city's code enforcement about various issues with his property. He has some moderate hoarding problems, with boats and scrap metal in particular, but there are also some self built structures on his property which were not permitted. He put off fixing these issues to the point where they have been fining him $100 daily for about a month. Then Wednesday evening while I was at work he had a severe stroke and has been in the hospital since. He is completely paralyzed in his right side and has lost all ability to meaningfully communicate. And he also has a minor legal issue he was working through at the same time which I'll have deal with potentially. Luckily he comes from a big family so I've had tons of support so far. The doctors say he's an excellent candidate for rehab based on how tough he is and how he seems motivated to move around and attempt communication, so there's hope he could make a meaningful recovery, but its still early days. And obviously I also will have to work on resolving the issues with code enforcement, but it turns out my bosses mom is on the city council, so hopefully we can get some leniency through her (they previously told us over the phone they cant stop the fines even if he's incapacitated). So that's what I'm dealing with currently. I'd still very much like to complete The Horizon Engine eventually, so I'll continue plugging away at it when I have some time again, even if that means I end up having to rebuild it all again next season. Wish me luck.
Hopefully we can update to 26.2 soon. I see Paper is working on experimental builds already.
I've also pushed a small update to web-chat that includes a convenience feature for connecting your phone and yellow/red favicons for server connection state.
Hell yeah
Haven't been able to play as well unfortunately. I've just started another round of interview prep and job applications to once again hop as my job has gone to shit in the short 8 months I've been here. I've also been doing a lot of stuff around the house that I've put off for a while as I prepare to host some friends during July. Finally, I've been paying more attention to my diet and physical activity to continue my slow weight loss journey. All of this has just left me with little free time to sit down and play Minecraft :(.
I finished the building to house the industrial district storage system (screenshots). I also included a button on the shulker loaders to prematurely break the shulkers, in case there are no filled ones and you only need some of the specific item.
That 2nd pic is looking a little sus
I've been away for the past couple of weeks due to life reasons but I sort of returned yesterday. Can't really properly play right now, but I'm back to my afk duties around the industrial district
Ahh, I was curious why my recent sessions were truly alone instead of with your afk account ominously keeping me company in the background. I hope your life stuff goes well.
I'll give you a brief summary next time I see you online, if you want to!
Same sort of deal for me - got lifed right in the face a few weeks back - but I'm not quite able to come back yet. Hopefully soon, and maybe you'll be settled back in properly by the time I return so that all feels right in AFK Land.
Life strikes again for me too! I should be able to play a bit in the next few days.
We areI am so back@teaearlgraycold, @creesch, could one of you please check the server's resource usage & tps?
Sorry, don't have a laptop with me and am out of the country right now.
Been working on an exterior for the industrial storage I built a while back. I noticed that the dock area by the portal that was built early on was going for the brickwork industrial vibe, so I tried building in that style which I have never done before. It has been a lot of slow building for me, but I think I have it roughly framed out in a way that I like for the most part. I just need to gradually add back in some detailed work and it will turn out well
New biome for 26.3. Get hyped!
Hear that one's quite pop'lar with the kids
How do new biomes generate when the world is already thoroughly discovered?
I can regenerate little areas that are untouched once I find where the new biomes would appear.
Something like MCA selector can also be used to selectively delete areas with little or no player time.
The tricky thing will be to figure out how rare the biome is with Terralith in the mix.
I feel like that is starting to become an issue with vanilla minecraft now as well. Especially with temperature preferences making it harder to find a different temperature biome. I know in my single player worlds being stuck either in a warm or cold biome area, and having to travel very far to get to the other temperature preference
I can regenerate cuboid regions with WorldEdit. I'll use
/locateto find the biome and regen a few untouched areas.@j0hn1215 would it be possible for you to add a shulker unloader / loader to the giant smelting furnace?
I agree that it desperately needs one. I only designed the shell for it, and I'm blanking at the moment on who built the furnace itself.
Oh, that'd be Bob Venti aka EthinolicBob, though afaik he's on an extended break right now
I agree that the input/output is the bottleneck. Putting a shulker loader at the end of the system might require a bit of planning so that there is the ability to break a partially filled shulker
