Is anyone playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Man this egg festival has really put a damper on my ability to collect iron nuggets and progress in the game. . .
Apparently the new patch should balance the amount of eggs, but we'll see.

Although I'm now seeing that rearranging and terraforming my island is probably going to end up costing me something like half a million bells. And that's after I pay down my deposits. Looks like I'll have many moons worth of grinding ahead of me. Maybe it's time to get in on this turnip-trade that the internet is memeing about before the bottom falls out of the market.
In case you didn't know, every day there's a shiny spot in the ground on your island with 1000 bells in it. You can plant there up to 33k bells and they will grow back in a few days with three times more bells than you put in (so if you put 33k, you'll get 99k back)

I've been planting non-native fruit trees in those holes! I couldn't figure out if it did anything but figured it must since it's all glowing.
Is 33k->99k actually confirmed? I've seen confirmation of 10k->30k but only rumors for (and warnings against) burying more than 10k.
Planting money into a glowing hole produces a tree with a chance of sprouting 3 bags of money each valued at

I don't know that those numbers are accurate. I've been planting 10k bells every day with 100% success. Given the 10% bloom chance, that is very unlikely.
My guess is that just using the golden shovel no longer will make a money tree, so instead its a 100% return using the once-a-day golden dig spot.
Yeah, I think those stats are from older games, and in NH it's a much higher/100% chance... (I haven't been keeping spreadsheet-accurate logs of my money trees, but I've had a new one every day, so I think it's 100%)
I didn't actually count how much it produces, so maybe not 99k, as @spiffytech pointed out, but I've been getting around 90k reliably.
Also I'm not sure it really is a chance in New Horizons, as it was in previous series. I think I've buried small amounts too and still got 3 times the money out of it reliably, it just grows quicker if you plant less money, but that seems to be it.
Haha, I haven't done almost anything with turnips and am almost to the point of terraforming. At about 60 hrs right now.
Main source of revenue has been getting fruits from other islands and planting orchards. Each fruit sells for $500 on it's non-native island. Also sell your native fruit on friends' islands.

Does that mean "from trees that I've brought to my island, sold on my own island" or does that mean "any fruit that currently grows on my island, but sold on another island"?
So oranges are my native fruit on my island. If I sell any other fruit on my island, regardless of whether I planted those fruit trees or not, each fruit sells for 500.
Then, if I go to someone else's island where their native fruit is apples or something, if I sell my oranges on their island, I get 500 a pop.

I'm glad they made this change - especially the balloons. There seems to be a much more reasonable ratio of normal to bunny day balloons. This was especially annoying since the recipes for the beautiful cherry blossom furniture are only available until April 10th, so it was nearly impossible to find them with all the bunny day stuff.
I'm finding it is actually making me play less because what's the point when I catch seven eggs in a row and can't get any raw materials to make anything non-egg related?
Always been a fan of the series, and I'm glad the only thing they managed to bring over from pocket camp was nook miles/achievements currency. I've been having a great time with it, and it's just distracting enough.
Been loving it. I've never played an AC game but I really enjoyed Stardew Valley and when I completed the majority of the missions I lost interest because I couldn't figure out what else to do. I was itching for another game like it after I couldn't get into Terraria the same way.
So far I've put around 60 hours in, which is a lot for me considering it came out a couple weeks ago. I'm almost finished with the main mission, and am excited to unlock all of the other features. I'm hoping the game stays interesting once the credits roll. I suspect it will considering all the different seasons and events but we'll see.

I picked it up last week as well and I'm a bit obsessed. I actually couldn't stop thinking about it last night such that it kept me awake late (wasn't even playing, just thinking about it). Still, it's a nice distraction from everything else going on in the world.
Happens to me too with new video games that I play a lot, so strange right?
