I don't have hard evidence but the moment this released, Twitter went down, and it's a pretty fun thing to consider that this broke Twitter.

I played it when it came out when I was a kid (sort of, for some definition of kid), and now I'm an adult. There's real nostalgia value for people in the early to mid twenties for it, it's not just a new fangled kids thing.

I played it when the game was in Alpha. I remember a friend and I would just fly around in servers destroying everything, because we were, you know, 15. Good times.

Weird but honest question for you; does Waluigi have an actual fanbase, or is it all just "ironic"? Because every time I see waluigi brought up it seems like it's somewhat mean-spirited in nature.

I mean... I guess kind of? Purple is my favorite color and I, like waluigi, am a weird lanky looking dude with bad facial hair. Which makes me more of a fan of him than any other of the other 3....

Which makes me more of a fan of him than any other of the other 3. I’m not legitimately mad or offended Waluigi isn’t in the game but yeah if I had a choice I’d put Waluigi in any game over Mario, Luigi, or Wario.

Wait, whut... !?! My kids are going to lose their collective minds. They're crazy about both of these games. What a crazy crossover.

That's just, unbelievable. Imagine how much they payed to secure the rights for it.

Probably none? This is a clear win-win situation. Nintendo gets attractive DLC, Microsoft gets significant advertisement, both franchises will get a bump from combined hype.

This seems like something that would have been really neato for the kids...almost a decade ago. Still, I guess it's pretty cool for them and all; it just seems really late in the day.

A decade ago, Minecraft absolutely wasn't as popular as it is today. 5 years, maybe, but Microsoft expanded the market reach quite a bit.

It's just about as relevant as ever.

Pretty much perfect for the 20-something demographic of Smash Bros that played Minecraft as a kid or in their teens, though.
