I don't know why but I just laughed out loud at this line. Thanks for sharing this link /u/Bet
Stavvy is fucking hilarious, and his podcast Stavvy's World is great. For anyone unfamiliar with him or his podcast, here's a really fun episode with my favorite gay comedians as his guests:
Stavvy's World #110 - Matteo Lane and Nick Smith | Full Episode
I love Stavvy. I give my sister a ridiculous calendar every year for Christmas and a few years ago I gave her one of his calendars. She did not appreciate it. My grandma loved it though. Somewhere there's a woman in her late 80s with a 2023 Stavvy calendar stashed away.
If someone took a time machine back to 2018 and told me about everything that happened over the last seven years, the most unbelievable thing would be that two of the three Cum Town boys were featured in GQ.
Hah, those calendars are great. There is something about a totally unashamed fat dude posing nude and as if they were a supermodel that I find hilarious. Bert Kreischer and Greg Davies (two more of my favorite comedians) have both occasionally done similar kinds of photos for press/merch too, although sadly not as a collection of them in calendar form like Stavvy did.
And honestly, the most talented one as at this point the least successful. Stav and Adam were great supporting members of that podcast, but people actually listened for Nick. I honestly think that during the middle of cumtown he was one of the most talented, interesting comedians of all time. It seems like the whole self loathing over critical thing was always what was going to keep him from mainstream success, even if the edgy ironic content didn't.
I haven’t really seen any of his stuff, but I realised I recognised him from a clip that was floating around a while back and I absolutely love the whole vibe - anyone who's having that much genuine fun with their coworkers/guests is alright in my book! I should definitely check out that podcast.
Yeah, pretty much all the episodes are like that too. Thumbnails on YouTube are often misleading, but all of Stavvy's thumbnails being of his guests smiling or laughing alongside him is not misleading at all. His podcast is just him joking around and having fun with his guests. There have been no truly mean-spirited or super tense moments that I can remember, nor is there any pretense of it being a super deep or "important" interview either. It's just a naturally funny, good-natured dude hanging out with other people (usually fellow comedians) that he thinks/knows he will enjoy spending time with.
Oh, I remember those Cumtown videos from YouTube. I thought that name was familiar.
