I hope it's so accurate that he threatens to sue the company and never gets over it for the rest of his technically adult life.

Given that it's supposedly based on the Musk authorized biography written by Walter Isaacson, I very much doubt it will be anything like that. Darren Aronofsky directing, and it being from A24, is a bit of a curveball though, so gives me a tiny bit of hope in the project. But I still doubt it will be very critical of Musk, an unflattering portrayal of him, or even very controversial, regardless of that. We shall just have to wait and see (if it ever actually gets made and released).

It's going to be so fucking boring if they don't dive into the reality. Give me the Musk that almost accidentally killed himself and some other PayPal dude while showing off his poor driving skills. Give me the Musk that sued Tesla and made himself the founder. Give me the Musk that calls a cave rescuer a pedo and wins the lawsuit. Give me the k-hole Musk who is forced to buy Twitter for 44B. Give me the Musk that gets booed on stage and locks himself into his office and seems so unhinged that his employees almost call a welfare check on him (just heard about this today).

There's so much good stuff there that anything else will just be a disappointing mess. I don't want a sad, sympathetic Musk. I bet that's what this will be after all, A24 is going mainstream...

I felt the same way about the Freddie Mercury biopic. There was so much potential there to tell a genuinely interesting story about him, his debauchery, and life struggles, if only they had had the balls to show the unvarnished truth... but it turned out to be a highly sanitized, milquetoast, formulaic, melodramatic, snorefest.

That's where Rocketman shined. Elton John prefers to dance with the skeletons in his closet.

I don't know, I'm actually optimistic about it. If it was any other production studio I'd agree we'd get a wet paper towel of a movie, but A24 tends to let their film makers run with their ideas and Darren Aronofsky has a pretty solid track record of making uncomfortable movies about complex and kind of sad individuals. I'm hoping the biography just fills in the absolute narcissistic shit show that is Musks life. I'm with FishFingus, I want him to sue.

Highlighting a billionaire's struggles of buying his way into success and then being pushed away from doing any real work because of his incompetant abrasiveness. And a really strange obsession with "X". X.com, Space X, X.com which just redirects to Twitter now.

People hate advertising but they love propaganda. It seems to be a contemporary theme in our media. Maybe it began with the Wendy's twitter, or perhaps the invention of the graphic tee. It could have started in the 1950's; although, people have worshiped enlightened despots centuries before this man. I hope this movie is exactly what it becomes and people can see it for what it is.

The headline made me despair but the details offer hope. If we are lucky, this will be our generation’s Citizen Kane. But instead of William Randolph Hearst we have this creep.
